Hi ladies, I am very new to the forum and have some questions. We have scheduled our DE cycle in March at Zlin. Our flights are booked already. We are flying to Austria and then will rent a car to Zlin. My FS here will prescribe Clexane to take with the Estrogen pills. Is anyone of you had to take it? How did you manage the flight, considering the high risk of DVT while taking hormone replacement? Have any of you tried Synarel for down regulation? I am opting for Synarel instead of the shot. Also, when did you have Intralipid? I am battling elevated ANA and NK cells.

Klh I would really go by your age, (also obviously taking into account what you have already been told about your eggs) if your over 38 I wouldn't bother doing ivf, yes lots of ladies including myself have got pregnant with owns eggs but you could have eggs and not one good one amongst them, then only the possibility of 3 eggs from your donor and they may not be great eggs either, and ivf study of donor women from 21-30 yrs showed that 60% of the eggs were no good, so they're not miracle ladies they're just like us, that's one reason why you see a large drop off in the amount of embryo's left at day 5 for example if you get 10 mature eggs and they all fertilise you would expect 2-4 to be ok for transfer at day 5, so I personally wouldn't waste money or time, but that's just me
venilia, welcome I have a friend that has to do clexane before and after her cycles and she has had no problems, I had to do it after my transfer with the Greek clinic I went to and also had no problems. Can I ask why you've chosen to do the synarel over the shot? I only ask as zlin have a very good protocol that they use and a few of the other ladies I'm in contact with o/s have mentioned that their f/s have been extremely interested in the way they do their protocol. I also had lupron left over from my Greek cycle as was told I couldn't use it, I had to have the shot, I'm glad I did as it ended up by being so much easier in the end, so I'm quite interested as to why you have chosen that way

Klh we went straight to egg donor without trying ivf with my own eggs. I was advised to do this by fs. I was 45 now 46. The Fs said we'd be wasting our money on ivf because at my age the chance of walking away with a baby even with ivf was around 1%. So we went straight to egg donor.

welcome Venilia. I can't help sorry as these are things I am only just learning about. But Stacey10 is a wealth of knowledge.

Stacey I contacted Dr M today. His receptionist was lovely. I still feel I have not had enough failed attempts yet. That's just something in my head. I've had 2 pregnancies with 2 miscarriage. So many of you have had so much more. I was filling out the paperwork tonight and I don't have much to fill out. Even test results, cause no one has ever done any. I saw a fs 12 months ago who just said its your age recommend egg donor. Went to clinic and had counselling session. Looked for donor. Sourced overseas option myself thanks to all the great info and support here. But the receptionist did not treat me like I should not be contacting. As I explained before we decide to go back again I want to rule out other issues, or identify and treat. I spoke to obn who did not seem to know much and she laughed and said most don't with this stuff. So I have a phone consult on 29 January. You do need a referral from GP so I will get that next week. She said to just get from gp it's easier than from a specialist. Now deciding if I will even tell obn. Initially I was thinking I would and he may be able to give me any Iv etc if needed rather than go to sydney, but after his reaction when I tried to broach the tests with him and what tests he has requested I am thinking he may not be supportive. So thinking I just go to sydney if needed and do it with ZLin and dr M.

AMFM you getting excited and nervous.

Deb sounds like an excellent plan to side step you OB, I will be able to sleep tonight given the 2 miscarriages from 2 pregnancies, one with a young donor I think you have enough of a reason to contact him and have further tests done
Amfm whoo 1 more sleep and your off
    xx

Thank you foryour responses. I am 37 (turning 38 in February). I think I am just ready to stop worrying about my eggs and just move foreward. It's just that every time I decide that, something throws me off course (1. getting pregnant 2. the doctor saying to try IVF). It's just confusing. We wrote to PFC yesterday and said we wanted to proceed with donor. We can always change our mind in the next few weeks, but I am ready to start this process. We found out our transfer date will be somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd week of March. That will be here in no time.

They also gave me the medicine protocol and recommended Synarel instead of the injection, so like Venilia, I am looking for people who have tried this.

Deb, your plan sounds like a good one. I say this all of the time "my body, my choice"....if a doctor isn't on board, go around them or find a new doc. Your attitude that you've had two pregnancies and two miscarriages and others have had more is remarkable. It's hard to stay so strong and you are doing a wonderful job of it. This past was my third miscarriage...I'm finding it hard to pick myself back up, but one day at a time, right?

AMFM - good luck!!! You must be so excited!

One question, do you recommend money exchange here or over there ? Which one has a better exchange rate? And are there ATMs there to withdraw money ?
    Thats more than one question

Amfm anything over 7.5-8 is good and you always have time to increase dose if it's shy of that I transferred some money here (euros) then at Prague airport for their currency, let us know what your lining is
klh, I'd go straight to donor as well then, I had a bad egg pregnancy at 38, not a nice experience, in my mind it's not worth the risk really. I tend to be very pragmatic regarding my miscarriages, I always feel sad but at then end of the day for me, I was always mindful that it was due to a chromesome problem, which helped me deal with them easier. As this last one was your third, have you had any other testing done to rule out MTHFR etc? Usually by the third miscarriage it's suggested to get additional tests to rule out any underlying issues that could be causing them other than the old egg issue

Thanks...I appreciate those thoughts. I feel the general same way...I just want to move on to something that has a higher success rate.

I have had all the clotting disorders, thyroid anitbodies, etc tested. My doctor felt there were no reasons or indications to test MTHFR. When do doctors normally recommend it?

Klh I would try and get the mthfr test done even if you don't get anything els done as it is a quite a common disorder, definitely after 3 miscarriages, I would have thought the clinic would have asked you for those tests to be done given your history xx
