    HI AMFM
We did everything in cash. Because of that we paid more than the deposit before we went. Bot sure about transfer when there because of the delay it takes to go from your account to theirs, I'd check that one with them. Main reason we did cash was because of the fees charged by banks here for transactions done overseas.

I'm feeling ok. Bit nervous about first day back at work. Spotting this morning. It's this long constant waiting game and hoping everything is ok in there.

Well, back to the obstretrician today. Unplanned visit. Went back to work and bleeding started again. Good news is our baby is still growing well and has a strong heartbeat. Bad news he is concerned about the other sac. He feels this should be pretty much gone by now, however it has grown and there are signs of abnormalities in it. He is sending me to a specialist who can do a more detailed scan and hopefully rule out a hydatidiform mole. Of course I googled this when I got home, bad move.
The mole thing is rare, 1 in 1200. But if it is that the treatment is a full evacuation of the uterus then ongoing monitoring to ensure they got it all. The way they monitor to make sure they got it all is via HCG levels. The risk if it is not all gone is an aggressive form of cancer. Bad google telling me all this.....
So the roller coaster of emotions continues. We wait for the scan next week to see in more detail what is going on and hopefully rule out a mole. If it is that then we see what the specialists recommend.
Off work again for the rest of this week. which is driving me nuts, not to mention there is no one doing my work so it is building up.

Hope all is going well for everyone.

I am not going to let Zlin know until we know what is going on. At this point it is just to rule it out. THe chances of it being the mole thing is so slim. I googled it happening with twins and there being a live growing foetus and that is even rarer. I am not in the risk categories. So I am going with my obstetrician just being thorough and wanting to rule it out. It is rarer with IVF too. SO I figure no need to concern Zlin with it unless it becomes a reality.
Back to bad movies tomorrow. THought I might hire a Bollywood movie. I love them.

I am looking for some help and advice. I have narrowed down to two clinics: 1) Zlin and 2) Prague Fertility Centre. Can anyone help me on my questions about each of them:

    Zlin:
    1. It seems many women don't have frosties left over. Can anyone tell me why Zlin seems to get less. If you used Zlin, did you get any?
    2. They want the deposit 4 weeks before I will find out anything about the donor. I am worried about this. We originally were going to go to Gynem, but they sent several donors and none of them looked good. They all missed the major characteristics we were looking for. It sounds like Zlin chooses the donor for you and you don't have any choice. Is that right? What if you get the donor information and don't like it? Do you get your money back? Any advice on this would be helpful.

    Prague Fertility Centre:
    1. Has anyone paid the 6000 Euro for the gaurantee to get two frozen embryos? My husband has morphology issues. Will that void the gaurantee?
    2. When does PFC require the deposit? Before or after the selection of the donor?

    Thanks ladies!!

    Hi klh

I can only answer re Zin.
    1. We have 2 frosties over there. We got 3 grade 1 and 1 grade 2 embryos so transferred 2 and froze 2.
    2. THey chose the donor. We did not get much info on the donor other than age 26, she has her own child and her characteristics were like me (brown hair, brown eyes, my height except she weighed much less than me). My thoughts are if you don't like the donor characteristics look for another donor, but you may want to check that with Zlin. WHat characteristics are you looking for?

Don't know anything about Prage Fertiity Centre but they could clarify those questions for you if you asked them.

It is hard deciding the clinic to go to. I looked back on my info and it was Gynem I was originally looking at before choosing Zlin. Still happy with my choice. You will choose which is right for you and which one you feel more comfortable with.

    Hi Klh,
phew I'm glad you've come back on as since you were here last I read a really bad review on Gynem on uk fertility friends site and wasn't sure if you'd come back again!!
The main reason for the frostie thing is the sperm, we had to use double donor as my husband couldn't come with me, we had a 22 yr old sperm donor and I got 4 grade a, so 2 transferred, 2 frozen, also, I don't think a lot of people realise that even with egg donors approximately 60% of their eggs will have some problems, this is why you see such a drop off with the eggs once they're fertilised, this is totally normal, in women over 35 it's gets to 70% and then just climbs higher.
if your worried about the choice of donor, just be very specific when you choose your preferences, and let your co ordinator know which things you won't move on.
as Deb has said your best to contact zlin regarding being able to change donor or get your money back, but I haven't heard of anyone no being happy with their selection, it comes back to trusting your clinic and being happy with which one you have chosen. As for the guarantee of Prague fertility clinic, I don't know, but I would say morphology may be an issue with the guarantee program, usually there has to be no underlying issues to get the guarantee programs, but check with them in that
Deb sorry to hear about the bleeding, the mole thing is extremely rare, I would lean more towards a blighted ovum and they can keep growing until around 12 wks and cause extremely high hcg levels. As for weaning off the drugs, zlin take a very cautious approach and you start at 12 wks and go through to 14 wks, I did it abit quicker and was off the estrogen by just over 12 wks and progesterone by 13 wks, I also thought with twins, I'd have enough in my system to stop a week earlier.
Amfm, I used travelex to transfer our money, no fees at all, better rates than the bank and it's there within 3 days, very easy to do as well, everything done online and easy to join up

Debant and Stacey10 thank you so much for your replies. We did a consult with Gynem and honestly I loved the doctor but the communication with the coordinator has been poor. We are leaning towards PFC primarily just because it's in Prague and will cut down on the travel. Also PFC doesn't require a deposit until after they pick a donor...my husband and I are more comfortable with that.

Debant, i have been reading your journey....all I can say is hang in there. This must be really scary. My thoughts are with you. Doctors often err on the side of caution too much....I agree with Stacey10 that it's rare and unlikely. Lots of good thoughts being sent your way.
