Default Dizzy and short of breath.. First pregnancy

Hi Can anyone tell me if getting random bouts of getting dizzy, and extremely short of breath during pregnancy is normal!? I don't want to go to a doctor if it's just a common side effect lol it's not constant only if I haven't eaten and sometimes if I stand for too long.... It stops when I sit or lay down... If I continue to stand while I'm having one of these episodes I'll most likely black out completely. Thanks in advance

I had spells of dizziness and a shortness of breath quite often. Mostly in the first trimester. My understanding is it is completely normal but if you are feeling like it's really not normal then it can't hurt to be checked out by a GP. They can check your blood pressure etc.

Thanks for your replies I did have my blood pressure checked last week and it was good, neither low nor high but who knows what can happen. I think I'll book an appointment to be on the safe side anyway

Might be worth having your iron levels checked as well

These are my #1 telltale symptoms of early pregnancy! Short of breath while exercising (I am usually very fit, so notice this almost immediately!), and get really dizzy when I stand, especially if I stand quickly. Sometimes I see little stars lol. This can be a symptom of low blood pressure which is also very common in early pregnancy - get your doc to check if your concerned at all but mine said nothing to worry about, very common!

I was dizzy & short of breath for all 3 pregnancies but especially my last one.

Low blood pressure but also low iron and some anxiety and the heat of the summer

This turned out to be very low iron levels for me. Definitely get them checked.
