I don't think you're being OTT at all . I have no tolerance for people who break social etiquette like that. I would find someway to let her know it's not ok. Not too direct because you still have to live with them.
Eg when you tell her and your dad you are preggers say something like "sorry I would have told you both sooner but I heard someone was talking about me getting fat and that threw me off guard."

Thanks all, thinking I might say something to her on the sly like "do you think I've put on weight? I've been hearing whispers about me stacking on the kilos"
It's passive aggressive enough to say stop ****ing talking about me but not confrontational enough to start ww3 between the family.
