Thought id better go get my BP checked out as thats how i felt when it was up as a side effect to medication once before, and sure enough it was up a bit. 166/90. Sooo.. nurse sent me to the GP who has put me onto medication to control it for the next week. The same ones i took with DS.

Im seeing an OB Wednesday, and then have to go back to the GP friday as well. The only thing i was unsure of was that my GP never tested my urine for protiens....so im just remaining vigilant for any other signs of PE like swelling (which has gone down), headaches, or vision problems, then ill go straight to hospital.
Glad to hear that you are monitoring your health well.

I'm not sure what others do, but when we transfer from formula to cow's milk we transition slowly by adding a little in and increasing the amount starting from around 10-11 months, depending on the child.

Oh ok. I've only been told not to give it to them before 1.

We haven't given them a full drink of it before one, just starting to get them used to it slowly. And it is a very small amount for a few weeks and slowly increasing just incase their tummies can't handle it. I'd imagine that it would taste different too...haven't tried the formula myself!

If I'd been able to breast feed though and had plenty of nutritious milk I'd probably prefer to give them that. But that was not meant to be. Pity you can't buy the stuff.

Haha I would sell my milk if I could.

Ra ra loves cows milk but I rarely give it to him. I made him a babychino yesterday as I made dh and I a coffee and we had spare hot milk. Ra ra was so excited!

It was suggested to me to let him get used to the idea in sips because he refuses a bottle and formula/breast milk in his cup. In the beginning he hated the milk as well but oddly enough now he doesn't mind it. This was when I was planing of weaning at one completely so I didn't want to wean him and him not drinking anything. Now I'm not sure what I'll do.

Last night he finally took a small breastfeed before bed but that's because he refused dinner instead. I don't like this fussy baby now I want my old fantastic eater/booby man/sleeper back. (side note: of course I love my little man but you know what I mean)

I could have been a wet nurse in the beginning I had oversupply and so much milk. It's funny how much it seems to have dropped now.

Ive never heard that before. Ling has been on 2-3 cups of cows milk for a month, since he weaned at 11 months. Our CHN wasn't fazed. He needs calcium from somewhere.

They recommend at some stage around 11 to slowly wean onto cows milk and stop formula. It's fine to have cows milk before 1 just as long as they are still getting formula or bm (700- 900mls) a day. I think it's just honey that shouldn't be given at all before 1.
I think formula should be used though if a bub isn't wanting lots of cheese, yoghurt, meats etc etc
