Yea, I'm not sure how serious it was but have read that if it has burrowed too deep, you have have major blood loss when it comes out.

I had retained placenta after 3 deliveries - I can understand your worries. I talked to my ob about it. That's why I had the epi put in late just in case and made sure the staff in the room were aware. The second time was the worst out of the three and I do wonder if it was adhering stronger in the same place each time and whether that was where my fibroid is or where the scar from the c-section was - who knows! They had my bed down, jewellery stripped but there weren't any theatres free when they went to wheel me out so they had to remove it manually...and quickly. Bit odd seeing a hand moving around up near your b00bs!

Talk to your specialist next time around and see what they think. Do what you feel comfortable with and what you think will get the best outcome for a healthy mum and baby.

Edit: Just realised it was the first time that it was the worst. Which was my 2nd VBAC.

Completely off the topic of next births, cs, vbacs and placentas (all I can say on the last one is eat it if you can ).

I'm about 5dpo and had spotting yesterday (almost enough to consider as light flow) and was expecting af to arrive because of my dodgy lp atm but today there have only been a few very pale pink spots. Wdyt?

This made me laugh - maybe you just need to cook it for a long time - make it less chewy and all.

AWC - did you eat your placenta?
Any symptoms? Metallic taste? Body changes?
@MrsTugs - how many days PUPO are you now? How many more are we all waiting?

Yes I did! I got it encapsulated.

I've been very hungry the last few days, bit bloated, craving chocolate...Ra ra has been eating lots of solids too.

What does it mean to have it encapsulated?

Sounds like me normally...but yes, the bloat - how could I forget the early pregnancy bloat - it's like nothing I've ever seen. Just as well people didn't see me at night time - it was huge! Stand side on for your DH and see what he thinks. My bloat was all through my mid-section. Looked like I was 4 months along already.

Yeah I do have a lot of mid-section bloat today but think its just all the food I ate today! I'm only supposed to be 5dpo so really too early for symptoms.

To encapsulate the placenta they dehyrated it (or steam & dehyrated it), grind it into a powder then put it in capsules (like vitamin capsules). Then you just take a couple a day until you run out.
