@Minib I’m not sure what the zinc is supposed to do to be honest! When I was working out what supps to take, I just copied wazza's protocol (it’s posted a few times throughout the wazza threads) minus the dhea and melatonin, since you need a prescription for those. Wazza seems to be the main advocate of supplements around these parts so I thought I’d take the lead from what he recommends.

@hermia Let us know how you go with the pgd. Do you know at what stage the embryos are tested generally? Do they need to be blastocysts, or can it be done earlier? We seem to have problems with both quantity and quality, so pgd is something I’ve been thinking about. We have never made it to blast though, so I’m not sure if we would even be candidates.

Welcome @StillHopeful and @Keiko2012! I think low cost clinics are brilliant, and have heard great things about both Springwood and North Lakes. However they both use low-dose standard protocols which are no good for me. My understanding is that when non-standard approaches are required these two clinics refer you back to QFG and Monash respectively. If regular protocols worked for me, I’d be there in a flash though! It’s so ridiculously expensive otherwise.

Welcome to the new ladies - I hope your next cycles are successful.

Turns out I will not be able to do my next cycle until early feb, due to timing with my lymphocyte therapy (DH and I found out we have matching DQ alpha genes).

I'd still love to hang around with you all if that's ok?

@Ladydee thanks for the info! I assume zinc and bio zinc the same? I better start on that too. I saw you on the POAS thread. Looks like a bfp. Congrats!
@freakedout I googled what dq alpha gene is. When did you find out about this? Hang around here cos hopefully we will stay here to support all the ladies even after jan/February.
@Keiko2012 welcome. 2015 will be our year.
@StillHopeful wow 27 eggs. That's a lot. The most I've got is 13. I have high AMH apparently so FS only gave me small dosage of drugs. I'm at mivf. Don't know how it works at low cost carrier. Don't even know if one exists in melb. I was supposed to be an easy and simple patient but 2 cycles later still not pregnant.

Thanks @Minib. Most specialists don't check for DQ Alpha because they do not think it is a treatable factor in infertility. But it is really big in the states and slowly brim more recognised over here. If you google centre for infertility solutions in clayton you can read more about the treatment. But essentially my body is rejecting our embryos because it thinks it is an extra part of me that does not belong. We found out late October and started treatment on wed. They take Dh's blood and inject it just under my skin to help my body get used to that part of his genetics. They will do it again in four weeks and then we can start our cycle.

Just had an appt with my doc. December is out as the clinic is closed over xmas. January is half out as my doc is away (unless some of his colleagues do my cycle, and he said as I have polycycstic ovaries he said its best to leave it to him e.g. overstimulation). Which means I would have to wait until february. And he wants to do a frozen transfer as apparently theres better success with PC ovaries. So then that would mean March. I am so over this waiting business. I thought by this times we would have a bubba and the thought of waiting until 2016 makes me so upset. I guess there is no choice . Anybody else had some experience with an agonist/antagonist treatment cycle?

Wow! That is pretty interesting stuff! Never heard of it before but thats great that they have a way to get around it i am also going to be february when we do our FET cycle. I have decided to go ahead with it in january and just be treated by different docs. Doesn't hurt checking out the competitors - apparently the guy has been doing it since when i was born he he. I was also put on metformin. Anybody can give me some insight on the ivf and FET cycles? All i heard was agonist antagonist,3 different types of injections, scans and egg pick up. Lol.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes x

KK that's crazy they said that, is anyone doing ivf an easy case? Lol!
I do understand there are differences but I just hope we are successful with them. I'm so over this long journey and am only at the beginning of a new one really with ivf.

Minib may I ask about your first 2 cycles? You seem to be in a similar situation to me with the MFI. I have been thinking non stop about how it's all going to pan out. Does your clinic do 5 day blast transfers? And how many eggs to how many fertilised? I'm so worried about my DHs swimmers. You don't have to answer, I was just curious as in my mind if we can get them to 5 day blasties I think it will work. I've carried 2 pregnancies before so I can't see why not. But I just don't know if we will make it that far with such poor quality swimmers. I guess I just have to wait and see. Call me stupid but I'm hoping it works first cycle. We already had a failed vasectomy reversal (even with an 80% success rate). I just want our bun in the oven already! 😭

I think melbourne ivf is where my sister in law went, and by what she paid it is just as much as low cost (I might be wrong but from research melbourne is cheaper than brisbane for ivf?) I also saw there was a bulk billing ivf 😮 but I really don't know much about the services in other states.

I start injections on New Year's Day!
Anyone else have start dates yet? I truly hope this is the year we all see those 2 pink lines and then a beautiful bub to follow! Xx

    Hi Ladies,

Unfortunately I see a few familiar names here.

I will sub in as I will most likely be doing an ICSI cycle around mid January. I had one fresh and 3 frozen transfers this year for 2 negatives, 2 positives and unfortunately 2 miscarriages.
@hermia we will be doing pgd testing as well this time. I am still a bit hesitant though as we had one of the miscarriages tested and it was chromosomaly normal. We want to do what we can though to reduce the miscarriage risk as we couldn't bare to do through a third.

Good luck to everyone and hopefully 2015 is our year.
