Hi girls, just dropping in to join the discussion I hope you don't mind?

I am cycling in Jan too and will have a FET at the end of the month. This will be our second cycle after our first attempt at IVF and a fresh transfer in Nov ended in a chemical pregnancy at 5 weeks. We did get 8, 5 day frosties as a result of the first IVF so not a complete failure, although losing the pregnancy was hard. Also good, we pad up and go again!

So here we are but without the drugs this time. A natural cycle and I have started testing my fertile days with an ovulation kit and once it gets to high I'll start going in for daily BT. Once they pinpoint OV we count five days from there at go in for FET. Predicting FER will be around the 27th.

Hope all of your cycles are going well especially those jabbing away. Anyone doing an FET too?

    X

    Hi and welcome.
I'm doing a FET (medicated) this month my transfer is on Thursday. We did our first round of ivf and unfortunately it resulted in a blighted ovum in November so similar stories. It's hard to be excited for the next round when you've had that heart break. Fingers crossed for you 😊

@MRS Chino - our specialist considers 'reoccurrent implementation failure as three or more failed stim cycles (both those resulting in BFNs or miscarriage)
He specialises in that area and actually tests for other issues that may be causing the failure (eg - we started this journey thinking we had just MFI to contend with and now it looks like we have matching DQ alpha genes and I have high level NK cells, which could be preventing implementation).
I think that you are always going to have your hands full with a baby and probably more so with two, but if the twins are your first (sorry on my phone so I can't see your history) then you would not know any different anyway.
The thing I always think about is the extra dangers that having twins can bring in pregnancy - eg complications accounted with not carrying to full term, so that the only reason I personally would not transfer two.

You need to think about what's best for you though - everyone is different.

Anyway all the best of luck whatever you decide! xx

    Default IVF/FET in January/February 2015

@Juzzabelle and @octonaugt, all the very best for becoming PUPO tomorrow! So exciting

We got great news yesterday that all 6 made it to 24 hours fertilisation! We were jumping around crazy and in disbelief that DHs sperm worked! He was very proud 😊 we don't find out anymore until I go in for transfer Tuesday. I keep worrying that we will go I and they'll say none got that far, but that's just me thinking the worst and Hopefully I'll be PUPO too and maybe even have some left to freeze!
I'm feeling great and really impressed with my low cost clinic. After all the worrying that they underdose and you don't get general anaesthetic I have full faith in them now. Compared to donating he pick up was chalk and cheese. I all that time I worried I only had a few eggs, I now see 6 good ones with no OHSS was the best outcome.
@besha, welcome back, I had a scan at day 3 with AF and it was the single most uncomfortable feeling of ever! Lol! But all for a good course. I guess it was made worse because it wasent at the clinic, it was an everyday US place and the technician looked just as impressed as I was doing a internal on the heaviest day of my AF! (I don't know if other clinics do them themselves or not? That would have made it better in my mind because they'd be used to it lol). Bt it really wasn't that bad, I was just freaking out there was going to chainsaw massacre at the end of the bed (sorry TMI!) but they were very discreet and it was fine. X

    Hi all,

Just popping in to say I am keeping up with all your updates and wanted to wish you all luck.

I am still 2ww'ing and currently day 5 post transfer today. Starting to go a little crazy. I did a test this morning and it was negative but I haven't lost hope yet.

Before I did my transfer I didn't realise that hatching blasts were better than perfectly round well graded blasts and now I am regretting not saving one of my two hatching blasts for an FET considering the odds are better than fresh transfers. I reviewed my freezing report as I originally thought I had several good blasts left but it looks like I only have one embryo left that actually turned into a blast that could be graded. The others we're ungraded or still in various pre blast stages and from what I can tell chances wouldn't be as good with those which is what my dr was hinting to me on transfer day but as I wasn't informed enough so it went a bit over my head.
I should have googled each stage ahead of time rather than as it was actually happening but we live and learn eh.

So I am wondering if I had a chance to do a fresh transfer again, which I am not sure I will, maybe I wouldn't use my best embryo?
I don't know, it's a hard one as you want to give yourself the best chance and freezing and defrosting sounds like it would put a little bit of stress on the emby but you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket so to speak either. So would it be better to spread your odds between fresh and frozen.

    What would you do?

@2015 to be honest, I've actually never heard in any of the chats here, my research on the internet or my experience in the medical world of frozen transfers having a much better success. It's quite debatable actually! Everything pretty much says its much of a muchness so I would definitely have a fresh transfer with the best emby. If there was a risk of ohss however I prob would wait and do a frozen. So I reckon you made a great choice and you are defo a few days early to see anything on POAS so fingers crossed it turns positive give it at least 2-3 more days (if you had a 5day transfer)

Thank you @Scootyboots may I ask what is a blighted ovum? How many weeks along? Good luck with your FET on Thursday - I hope it's a better story this month. For both of us. Fingers crossed I'm only a week or so behind you.
