Hi ladies so I'm officially pupo! Got a good looking blasty on board, four in the deep freeze and another two that should be frozen tomorrow. So good outcome so far from our cycle, everything crossed this one takes!

I hate how whingey I sound I just wanted an answer either way. It's going to be a long two days. Also, if one embryo is not genetically viable, does that mean that all the other frosties from that EPU will fail as well? We have 3 others on ice. Has anyone had frosties defrosted for genetic testing? Waaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
Hcg does relate to the embryo, as it is the hormone produced during successful implantation. If hcg is lower than average, you might have 2 possible outcomes
    a) a slow starter that will be fine
    b) an incompetent embryo that will not progress

if progesterone is high then your endometrial lining is great, so nothing to worry about there.

if an embryo fails it's not always genetics, many embryos that have been biopsied as 'normal' still do not implant. Also, the implantation window must be tight, ie the time that the bun goes back in the oven might be perfectly timed, as if an embryo is transferred outside optimal times, it won't implant, even if it's perfect. I'm about to have some defrosted and tested this cycle.

it's such a long process *sigh*. Hang in there. There's no reason to second guess your frosties at this point, many ladies get pg from their snow babies.

Wow that sounds awful! It's such a cruel trick of nature making you look kind of pregnant and not being pregnant. If it's any consolation I too will be reaching for the fat pants shortly. Kmart it is! Lol

Thanks so much for that information, when you say 'if the embryo isn't transferred within the optimal times' isn't that what my specialist should be working out? The optimal time for transfer?

Another question: If my progesterone is high, does this mean it could be a while before my next cycle starts? (Assuming my beta signifies a non-viable on Monday). How quickly does progesterone drop once hcg starts dropping?

Ok guys - because of the length of this thread (you could all talk the hind legs off a cricket!) I'm about to create the new thread/home for us, same title except with #2 and paste a new roll call in (with the usual apologies for undoubted mistakes, etc).

I will just post a reminder from time to time about the new thread (in case posters have missed it) until this one dies.
