    Default Elf on the Shelf

I'm doing the elf on the shelf for the first time this year! Any one else? Thought I'd start and share pics - I've got 24 nights to think up some cool things for our Elf to do!

We start in the morning so just did my first night - our Elf - Buddy - has lined up all DS cars in the shape of a snowman on his play room floor!

Last night our elf Jingle was making snow (sugar) angels.

Tonight he is hiding in the tree

My 6yr old DD is sooo into it and excited. My 3yo DS thinks it's funny but doesn't *really* get it. He forgets to seek him out each morning until his big sissy wakes up and reminds him! And 19month old DS is oblivious to it all!

    So I'd say 4ish?

Can someone explain? I've heard of Elf on the Shelf, and I've seen plenty of photos of his creepy little face, but other than that I don't get it...?

    Default Elf on the Shelf

DS just woke up and was so excited so find Buddy with his cars!

4 is definitely a great age to start - it's been 15 minutes and he can't stop talking about it!

Santa sends your family an Elf and you get to "adopt" him as such ad give him a name - From Dec 1st Santa's scout Elves ( the ones who check up on the kids who have been naughty or nice) come to life at night and fly back to the North Pole to report to santa - they then come home and usually get into mischief and every morning in December you wake up to find what they have been up too! Then on xmas eve they leave a good bye message and go home but come back every Dec 1st!

Your Elf comes with a cool story book explaining it - we are going to read it every night before bed - I don't emphasise the naughty as much but say he just tells Santa what you've been up too that day and let's him know how good you have been ( we talked about things like how good he was at packing up his toys before bed etc )

It's not just DS ! I'm having so much fun with it!
