My FS said that I didn't need one and said I should try a round of IVF or IUI, but I demanded that a lap is done. This way I'll have a clear mind in case we do end up going down the IVF path.

Also, I have a friend who was trying to conceive her first Bub for over 2 years, didn't have any symptoms, all tests were clear and her specialist ended up doing a lap. Turned out that she had mild endo, which was removed during the procedure. The Month after the lap, they conceived their bub.

    So gives me some hope!

Don't be surprised if the lap doesn't show anything. Usually they only do them if they suspect endo (i.e. you have other symptoms). Some people just don't have anything wrong with them. All of our tests came back clear, but we had no luck after a year of ntnp followed by 2 years of hardcore ttc (temping, timing etc). We were lucky on our first round of IVF though.

I can't believe your FS is encouraging IVF before a lap Not a single thing showed on mine, but that was the final push DH needed to get re tested. So while it revealed nothing, it did lead to our diagnosis.

Yes you can request one in fact I urge you to Unicorns. Leave no stone unturned. If it shows nothing then you can cancel out a number of causes. When do the results for your DH come back?

Hey ladies just popping in to say I had my lap done last Thursday and everything went well, but seems there was no need for it, my ovaries weren't fused to anything like my fs thought and my endo was minimal. I go back to see him on Wednesday so I will find out more then, like why I was having pain.
Hope everyone had a good xmas and NY.

From what my surgeon told me even the tiniest bit of endo can cause infertility. Did they remove it? I got my BFP 6 weeks after my lap (ended in m/c though) so I hope the clean out does the same for you and that you aren't feeling too sore xox

Thanks ladies, the lap wasn't to help with infertility, I have gotten pregnant a few times in the last 12 months, the last time being November, the lap was for the pain I was having during and after dtd and during ovulation. This was my second lap, the first was for infertility.

Hey ladies how are you all going? DH and I have finally started testing for ivf. We had never really considered it because of $$$, but we are going through a bulk billing clinic. So far all tests have been good, I just have to lose some weight before end of March to start our first cycle then
