I'm devastated. Generally celebrity deaths don't have an emotional impact on me like this has. So heartbreaking for all involved. His family, friends, team members and the bowler who delivered that ball.

Just a few days short of his 26th birthday.

I've enjoyed watching his skill on the cricket field. His innings ended too soon, RIP.

As my husband said, Phil Hughes will remain 63 not out at the SCG.

Such a sad day. For both Phil's family and friends but for the bowler too. No matter what anyone says to him, I'm certain he will carry guilt with him for life. Not that he could have changed anything. It was a freak accident and nothing more. I wouldn't be surprised if he quits cricket to be honest. This whole situation would be devastating for anyone involved.

This is so incredibly sad. That he passed away so young and so close to his birthday through a rare and tragic accident whilst living out his childhood dream is heartbreaking. I really feel for his family, it happened so unexpectedly and suddenly.

I also really feel for the bowler; despite being a horrific accident and not his fault, I imagine this will very difficult for him to live with.

Such a freak accident. I've been deeply touched along with millions of other Aussies. May he RIP and the poor bowler I hope he manages to somewhat get over it..

So incredibly sad. Such a young man. My heart bleeds for his family and friends. A tragic freak accident. I really hope the bowler can work through it and not have it consume him.

Feeling devastated for his family, his 'cricket family', the bowler and all lovers of cricket everywhere.

As a PP said - always 63 not out. RIP
