    Depends on what you're buying. I use mail forwarding when the item isn't available in Australia or is close to double retail in the USA. Eg I love Equipment shirts. They are close to $AU400 in Australia. In the us they are $US200. At the moment they are 25% off in US as well. So even with a dreadful exchange rate and extra shipping it's far worth it for me to buy them from the USA and send them through a mail forwarder.

    You definitely have to do your research.

    Yep - I just bought DS a winter Ralph Lauren Parker for winter next year that was reduced from $229 US to $39 US and is $299 at David Jones , same with jeans I got for $13 which are $89 at David Jones so even with adding exchange rates and postage it's still more than 50% cheaper plus they have so much more variety than we do in Sydney - same with Gap clothing

    I've also bought toys from target usa that they don't stock here
