So annoyed it isn't in WA!!! Come on...we are only just getting Aldi and Krispy Kreme WA (wait awhile for sure)
I feel so tempted to go to Costco but really don't think the savings would justify the $60 membership. Plus the bulk buy of food would probably end up being wasted. I seriously think that if there was no membership fee they would get so much more business.
It's not all bulk goods though? You can buy 1 yogurt or 1 cheese or 1 carton of milk , bottle of washing detergent etc it's only usually some things like a tray of coconut milk (12 tins) or tin tomatoes and it's usually half the price anyway - I save easily more than $60 every time I go and I go once a month - it's definitely worth going to have a look just to check it out!
I went to the Adelaide one yesterday and it was so much quieter already. Definitely go midweek if you can.
I'm inclined to agree about not getting value back on bulk food - but we're a small family of 3 and we haven't the storage space for it and we'd never get through half of it before expiration. We'd need an industrial sized freezer just for the meat and frozen food section!
And it is easy to get carried away because their prices are, comparatively speaking, fantastic for most of their stock (you have to do a bit of research first on things you're likely to buy to get a better idea). You just buy everything. And then you're left with 10 packs of corn cakes ... true story.
However, they're good for stocking up on non-perishables like dishwashing and laundry stuff, cleaning products, paper towels, toilet paper. If you use that sort of stuff, of course. And we also buy things for my mum, which saves her money on her weekly shopping.
It really depends on whether or not you use the products they stock and they don't stock all the brands - or variety within brands - that you'd find at your local supermarket. I think it's worth a look though if you can. If you have the patience for price comparisons.
And if you can go through for a snoop without being a member or accompanying a member; I don't think you can though.
