Oh wow, I so want to summarise my MIL in this, but a lot of why she's infuriating is because it's just so ONGOING.

We were there for an hour on Sunday, DP fixing her computer for her the entire time. This was within a few minute period, and it kept up the whole time.
"Oh I've been trying to get in here all morning, but noone would give me a chance. Can you get it working? I want speakers to. Oh and one of those machines that takes your videos and turns them into CDs. Can you look out for one for me? Oh no, I can't get one on eBay, I can't afford that. You need money to use eBay. Just look out for one and get one for me. No I know (daughter) needs internet for school; I don't have the money. It's too expensive. Can you get it working? I've missed so many great emails. Oh, how much? Hmm, maybe I could do that. It's mean I could watch youtube wouldn't it. Oh this computer's so slow! Will it always be like that? Oh, are you sure? It's definitely my phone that's making it slow? It didn't used to me like that. DD, stop being annoying! I'm trying to concentrate. Just leave me alone. That kid, she just never lets up. She always wants something. Talk about bullying, this is what I get all day. You need to go soon? Oh I know, I have SO much to do. Noone ever lets me get a chance."

Seriously, one continuous rant of "me me me" the entire hour.

Lent her a bicycle. 18 speed eg 1-6 R side, high med low L side. Explain the concept of the gears.. "oh so it has to be in the lowest to start off"? No you can start in any gear it might just be harder. "oh I should get it to first before I start" NO its not like a car, start off wherever.. "ok im finished ill get it to first so it will be right to just start tomorrow" .... Smh

While at a family BBQ in the backyard.

FIL: I'm just going to go out the front of the house to have a cigarette.

MIL: Why are you going out the front? Just have a cigarette here.

FIL: There's children running around everywhere!

MIL: A little bit of cigarette smoke never hurt anyone. Kids breathe in all those car fumes everyday!

If MIL thinks she's going to be blowing smoke in my kids face she better think again!!

Not said to my face but along these lines:

"There's something wrong with my grandson. I don't think they feed him enough food or a variety and it is affecting his development. They are always putting him down for a sleep and he isn't even tired. They are isolating him. It must be because heids has pnd." Arghhh

    Oh these are gold!

When i was living with her and had just walked downstairs for breakfast, no good morning just "I didnt like you yesterday"

"When breastfeeding doesn't work you have to put her on the Nan" (formula)

"Don't you ever put her down?" (shes 3.5 weeks old)

Recently we had to explain that the baby's umbilical cord was attached to the placenta.... not my belly button :/

There's so many more, will come back as i think of them!

Bils partners best friend just had surgery as she has cervical cancer.
At a family BBQ when someone asked bil how we was..

Mil: it's only cervical cancer. After a hysterectomy she will be fine, Any cancer can come back you know. This person I know has brain cancer and she just had treatment done.

Mind you this girl is 25 years old so a hysterectomy is a pretty huge deal.

When I was 14 weeks pregnant...rather than be excited for us, MIL said:

Why do you want a baby? Aren't there enough people in the world?

Then later at 30 weeks refering to dh's 9 month old nephew crawling around being cute:

This is the reality [of parenthood] you know!
*said like it was a bad thing*

I don't feel so alone when reading these posts! My mil is such an airhead. I used to think she was a bish but then realised she's just away with the pixies and not realising what she's said. I have so many.....

This is now ex Mil but when i was pregnant " you will not give the baby your last name, it's not your right. The baby is a 'xxxx' and will be named so'.
That woman has some sexist outdated ideals. I took great delight in pointing out that she didn't get to sign the birth certificate and therefore got no say..lol
