I got my ds#2's carers a personalised book each that was a story about my son, in school and their name
Features as the teacher in the book as well as the school's name.

This is his last year at preschool so this will be something they can remember him by.

I'm doing something like this. I don't think I will do the measuring tape though. Am getting DS to put handprints on it.

I'm getting my boys teacher a beautiful Christmas tree ornament from each of them. And probably also a great picture story book because all teachers love them

It's the first year that I won't be teaching at the end of the year as I'm on maternity leave. I have to say I appreciated child made gifts. Loved the pictures they drew for me etc. I actually have 2 on my fridge right now.

The thought had not crossed my mind to buy pre-school teachers Christmas gifts!! Is it the done thing nowadays? It wasn't when I was a kid (A long time ago!) we only buy gifts for immediate family normally.

Default Christmas Presents for Daycare Teachers

I haven't taught preschool but as a primary teacher most kids would buy me end-of-year gifts. I have a 14mo son in daycare now and we're definitely buying his carers gifts - they look after him every day for very little money, and we want to show a token of our appreciation.

Edit - I'm 35 and I remember picking gifts for my primary school teachers?

We always have our teachers at primary school gifts at Christmas (talking 30+ years ago!) so I always figured it WAS the done thing!

And in answer to the OP - usually chocolates - nice ones like Haighs or something.

I figured that they wouldn't want 20-odd home made gifts from children every year

I have got DS's daycare educators a set of fridge magnets each from madeit.com and will be making them a homemade christmas ornament from DS's hand print.
