    Default Sounds you cannot stand!

I just happened across a thread about snow cone makers & ended up having to close it because all the talk of ice being crushed & shaved was making my skin crawl *shudder* I HATE the sound of ice rubbing against itself, being scraped or chewed on! It definitely made working in pubs & bars a proverbial minefield!

I have friends who can't go near balloons because of the sound of fingers being rubbed on them, and one friend in particular who can't even bear the thought of touching a cotton wool ball because of the 'squeaky' sound they make when they're rubbed/squeezed in your fingers! Bit weirder than the usual fingernails down a blackboard!

Anyone else have a horrible sound they can't stand?

I'm in total agreement with both ice and teeth grinding! Can't stand it when people crunch ice! Yuck!

Really dislike the sound of the fan in the toilet too.. Not sure exactly why but it irks me and usually I only put it on when I want to drown out the sound of my kids shouting or playing... Hide in the toilet much haha

Oh another one is the sound of my kitchen light. It hums and when I switch it off it's like instant relief. I guess I'm pretty sensitive to noise

I can't think of any right now, but DP has an aversion to the sound of sand being shovelled off pavement (like when new concrete is being made in a little mixer and they're adding the sand, for example).

He is a plasterer and if he's on a job and another tradie starts doing it he has to leave the area while they do it. Thankfully he rarely has to work with other tradies on site and is mostly there by himself.

When one of the kids randomly puts their window down in the backseat of the car. It drives me nuts.
