I would like to know more about this mother. It'll be interesting to see what kind of details emerge.

This was an extremely cold hearted act. It's hard to imagine being in such a headspace.

The baby was clearly unwanted, but the way he was disposed of was completely callous and showed absolutely no hint of human empathy. It's frightening that people like that exist, let alone have babies.

I hope this little guy is adopted and adored by whoever takes him into their home.

What I want to know is? How did the baby get found? Did the baby cry? Did someone see her put the baby in there. It seems so strange that someone just knew to look there....

    The whole thing is wierd.

And that Keli lane case just makes my blood boil . Did she even go to jail. She was in some mag a while back with some guy who says he has always loved her. Uck, just so wierd. And if memory serves that wasn't the only baby of hers to go missing.

Yes but for some people there is no after care offered at all. Just see your gp.

The baby was screaming it's lungs out @sunnyflower. A father and daughter rode past on their bikes and heard it. They collected a bunch of nearby people to help lift the heavy drain cover and the police pulled him out

Kelli Lane is in jail and had her appeal turned down. She has had a few children, 1 she raised and 2 (?) adopted (though this may not be quite correct)

@sunnyflower Kelly Lane is in jail serving an 18yr prison sentence.
She'll be eligible for parole in 2023 after over 13 years in jail.

This is a very sad story. It reminds me of something I read. The day of your birth is the day you have the highest chance of getting murdered. By your mum.

I'm not surprised that family and friends didn't raise the alarm. Surely if you come to throw your baby in the drain it must mean that you have a very very poor support network if none at all.

Yes this is what I saw too. My question is if that drain cover was so heavy that it needed several people to lift it how did the mother lift it on her own to get him in there?

she didn't lift it, she squeezed him in and the baby fell from over 2m.
It's a miracle he is alive.
