Default Mosquito repellant for a baby?

Is there any kind of mosquito repellant I can use for a 5 month old baby?

Something natural would be best but something that actually works. And something that is ok if he sucks on his hands etc.

Ive just found out that we are having an xmas gathering with one of dh's family members in the evening at their house. I had assumed it would be a lunch time thing but dh just informed me that its definitely in the evening Last time I went there in the evening I got absolutely covered in bites (no-one else did, they always find me) & id rather ds doesnt get bitten at all if possible.

Its going to be far too hot for him to wear long sleeves.

Unfortunately the majority of the commercial ones are 12m+.we trief to get some for DS3 when we went camping when he was 10 months but the chemist said none are recommended for that little.

He wont be able to stay in the pram the entire time. He'll need to be fed, people will want cuddles & he gets sick of beimg left in the pram after a bit & starts screaming till we take him out.

If I cant find a mosquito repellant that will work ill just send dh & ill stay home with ds.

You can't avoid mozzies in the summer. it would be silly to sit home because of that. buy some wipes that are in the baby section of some chemists that are for mozzies.. made by pigeon. it's specifically for babies. it's likea wet wipe.

I found something natural to use with DD when we went camping and she was about 3 months. I'll see if I can find the name of it. I figured it might not work but it was better than nothing

I use the MooGoo Tail Swat spray. It's not a repellant as such, rather a spray that smells nice but makes you less attractive to insects. I spray it on DD & myself most days when we're playing outside, I'm the type of person who gets eaten alive outside & it does seem to help!
