Lulubee.... my FS always said I wouldn't need progesterone support as my body will produce it, however my immune specialist, Dr M (same as Bbhope) disagreed. P4 levels above 50 are fine for normal women, but my levels first came back at 150, and still Dr M upped my progesterone from 2 x 400mg pessaries a day to 3 x 400mg pessaries a day. I've had the P4 tested each week, and the levels have been fluctuating slightly 150, 140 and last week 165, and still he didn't decrease my support. I read somewhere on Bubhub, that one lady only stopped the support when her progesterone was about 500, so if your level today comes out between 50-150, I would be asking for the script. Some women on here are having up to 5 x 400mg pessaries a day, as someone recently mentioned how difficult it is lying down that many times a day!!

Thank you so much ladies. I really appreciate the support.

I emailed again and asked for my progesterone level and it was 52! So not even that high.

I've had a really confusing back and forward convo with the FS but via her receptionist and I feel like she doesn't want me on them but I've had three miscarriages, have immune issues (not massive ones identified but they do exist) and I have adenomyosis so I just want to give this pregnancy a chance.

I am a little shocked she didn't just want me on them!!

I am just going to go ahead and start on the pessaries. The script has been faxed through to the pharmacy and they have them in stock. I don't know what dose it is yet but it's apparently two pessaries twice a day.

I just hope I've started on them in time!!!! I'm only 10 dpo but I'm freaked out!

    I'll also start aspirin tonight.

Wish me luck, ladies. Please stick bubba, please. Fourth time lucky!

I saw my GP tonight as I needed to get a new script for my thyroid meds. I asked her about the progesterone and she was totally all for it and thought it totally necessary and worth it. I'm a little ****ed at my FS for saying I didn't need it!!!

@Miss Sagi - maybe I'm with you on this one! I want to like her but a couple of things have made me not convinced.

She also prescribed me 400 mg a day of progesterone - taken over two doses - so 200 in the morning and 200 at night. But the script is for 100 mg pessaries - so now I have to insert two in the morning and two at night when I could have just been given 200 mg pessaries and inserted one twice a day. Even the pharmacy were like 'this is weird'.

So you ladies are on 800 mg/day. I've been prescribed 400 mg/day. Should I ask on Monday for it to be increased?

DrM wanted to start me with 400mg per day, 200mgx2 until BFP. Then, 400mgx2 = 800mg per day. I mentioned to him that my FS was starting me 800mg right after EPU/natural O and DrM had no problem with this. He wrote me 400mg script instead. I'll be on 800mg + crinone this round.

BTW, your P4 is kinda low at the borderline.

Is 52 low? It was taken yesterday at 9 dpo. My stupid FS said it's fine! I'm losing faith in her!

Lulubee, yes she's good with the talk, that's what convinced me to go with her, but unfortunately no substance beyond that. They're just not flexible there.

Is it weird that Dr M has never mentioned any progesterone support to me with high NKC (blood and uterine), MTHR homo & ANA? I'm going to buy double the amount in SA.

Bbhope, how are you going with starting your cycle?

AFM: Intrilipids tomorrow, then two days left of work and leave for SA in 6 days! Whoohoo

    Hi to everyone else

I think you'll find MIVF consider anything over 30 good. You can't overdose on prog so take what makes you feel at ease.

Thanks, lovely. I've started the pessaries so I'll hope I've got onto it in time. I'll ask to be monitored and will increase if necessary. I can see I'm going to need to be on this FS and not be complacent.

Default High Natural Killer Cells #6

    Hi ladies

I'm a bit of a progesterone advocate so just wanted to add a couple of things. Dr M is a big believer in progesterone for immune pregnancies and also, if you are doing a HRT cycle (ie you don't ovulate/menstruate) you also need higher doses. Dr M kept me on progesterone up to 16 weeks (take my very last one this Sunday woo) whereas my clinic wanted to wean me off at 12 weeks. The other tip is: if you're having to use them many times a day, put them up your back bum instead of your front bum. Just use a bit of natural/chemical free lube to push it right in. A bit gross, I know... BUT no need to lay down afterwards (massively more convenient) plus my levels shot up after doing it this way as none of it leaks out, I wasn't absorbing it properly up the front, as so much of the pessary would fall out of me.
