    Default Intralipid process in ivf

My DH and I are looking to do an ivf cycle in Mid January and it will be our first cycle with intralipids for high NK cells.

We are looking to travel to Japan in May, but realised if we have success in our ivf cycle we would need to still have intralipids after the cycle.

Can anyone tell us at what stages the IV will need to be conducted after a confirmed pregnancy and up until when. Also is there flexibility on when they need to be administered. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Freaked out,

I had 5 infusions in total. The first was 5 days before embryo transfer. Then after BFP I had them at 6, 13, 20 & 26 wks pregnant. My Dr usually aims for 4-6 wks apart (depending on how severe your NKCs are) but I stretched a couple out to 7 wks.

Yes Lilypily, the last infusion at 26 wks gave me coverage until 32 wks, at which point a prem bub could survive if my immune system flared up & baby was safer out than in.

Thanks for the info @SimpsonDesert. This is a great help - particularly confirming that the treatments times are reasonably flexible.

On another note, I was really pleased for you, reading you signature, that you finally got your BFP - congratulations! was that the first cycle you had done with immune therapy?

My DH and I have done 3 fresh and 2 frozen cycles - all with BFNs
We changed specialists and I have just been diagnosed with high NK cells and also DH and I share the DQ Alpha gene. The next cycle will be our first with intralipids so we hope that's the key to success!

We have put off doing things on the off chance we might get pregnant for so long, we decided next year to just live life - so bring on Japan!!!

@freakedout44 you're very welcome and good on you for getting on with life. Japan is beautiful, I hope you have Kyoto on your itinerary

Thanks for your congrats. Yes I did get my BFP on my first cycle with immune treatment. We had PGD tested embryos, they just needed a favourable environment to grow in, and immune therapy was the key for us.

I hope you have success 1st time with it too, good luck

Sadly all my trips to Japan were for business and left little time for sightseeing. So much to see in Kyoto alone. My faves were Nijo castle, the golden temple, and just walking the streets/lane ways where the rickshaw drivers and geisha girls hung around. Outside of Kyoto I've only been sightseeing at Hiroshima peace park & museum. Well worth the trip down there. A good reason to ride a bullet train . Cherry blossom season is usually April, but you might be able to catch some still in bloom in the cooler northern parts like Sapporo. I've never been over there at the right time to see the blossoms, it's on my bucket list.
