    Default Small gestational sac?

Hi all. Second pregnancy for my. I've a healthy one year old. I've had two dating scans. First, I was 4 days behind what we thought and the hb was just slightly off where the sonographer wanted it to be so suggested I return in a week to make sure all ok.

I went for follow up yesterday- 10 days later. Bub had caught up - measuring 7w4days and the hb was great- 148bpm. But, unfortunately, the gestational sac is measuring 5 weeks 6 days= 12 days behind. I can see in the pic that there isn't much room in there. She said that it's still within the buffer but small enough to be a concern. Told me to come back in two weeks, not to google and there's nothing we can do for now.

If course I googled- the stats are not good. This happens in 2% pregnancies and results in miscarriage 80-96% of the time.

I've no cramping, bleeding or anything. But, just like my last pregnancy, I have zero symptoms so, really, I feel in limbo and very sad.

I'm just looking to see if anyone else has experienced this.

Incase someone is researching. I had my scan today (9wks 2 days). Bub is measuring fine and has good heartbeat (180bpm). Sac just a week behind now. Sonographer not concerned said to monitor. Thanks for your support. X

That's great news! Do you have a follow up scan booked? Hopefully it'll all catch up and get back on track.

    Default Small gestational sac?

Updating again In case anyone is in same position in future. So I had my nuchal today. Everything looks great. Healthy bub with fine sized sac. This scan place is specialist obstetric. They told me that they wouldn't have been concerned about sac size of fetal pole was good and wouldn't have had me back for follow up. If I didn't have a dating scan and just had the nuchal as my first scan I'd never have known there was a "problem".
