Default High NK cells and possible DQ Alpha gene match

Hi ladies, hope everyone is well, was wondering how you were all progressing?

Have my 2nd LIT this Tues, apparently we have to wait another full cycle before trying again (for spontaneous). Have been prescribed Clexane, Dex, asprin & intralipids.

I'm really concerned about the side effects of Dex on the baby... Keep thinking of the DES tragedy, the risks... Very nervous after googling.

I'm contemplating forgoing Dex given how much has already been done since my loss: laproscopy (endo excised), LIT, intralipids, asprin... I'm also taking high dose fish oil, curcumin (tumeric), vitamin E (200mg), Would love to hear your thoughts?

    Default Catch up

Hi Riaki, when you say dex do you mean the steroids? I'd be really careful changing your medication, my biggest fear would be another miscarriage.
I have just TTC my 3rd cycle since having LIT with no success. I have an appointment today with Dr Lolitgas and I'm pushing for IVF this cycle. I need to be pregnant now, no more stuffing about.

@Carlar78 yep dexamethasone (1mg/day) steroid, I'm just really worried about side effects, but at the same time just as worried about another loss:

Good luck today, fingers crossed for you!

You could also try prednisone instead of Dex as its not as strong and doesn't cross the placenta.
@Carlar78- I'm in the same boat as you. Bfn first cycle and now onto 2nd. Nick said ivf after 3, I just completed the police check so it doesn't hold us up as I've heard the police and child protection order can take 6 weeks to get back. I'm consulting with dr Matthias in Sydney, just did Chicago immune testing and waiting for results and Dr m will write me up a plan. I told nick I'll be working with him, and he's fine with it, he's done it quite a bit before.

Dizzy82 are you serious? So now I'm going to have to wait weeks before we can even start IVF? Omg that makes me so angry and super upset. Hubby already has a police check but i don't and we don't have the child protection orders.
    Why why why

    @Carlar78
How did your appointment go yesterday? That's just what I heard from a friend, but on the form it says allow at least 10 working days. Sorry I hope I didn't upset you. This whole process is so long...

Oh i didn't realise your steroids were different to the ones we use. Can you take prednisilone instead? I would be worried too, big hugs

That's so annoying!! It's lucky they were able to still squeeze you in. Best of luck today, please update me.

It's weird he's got you on prednisone and us on dexamethasone. What level were your nk cells in your uterus? I'm not too worried about being on Dex, all drugs carry some risks, and they've been using these steroids for a long time, of course it's not ideal, but if it's what I need to do to have another baby then so be it.

Good luck today @Carlar78! Hope it's speedy paperwork for you both, we got to the police check part of IVF last year & ours only took 5 business day to turnaround (wrong test result to start with & I fell pregnant that month), we even did the counselling session before I knew I was pregnant.

Curious, has anyone on this thread had a laproscopy & ruled out endo? @freakedout44, @kristya?
