@Dizzy82, that's great! Mine were 14%, I've just bought Alan Beer's "Is your body baby friendly" (Dr N recommended it!) today so should be an expert in next few days hehe! Do you know if you'll also be taking prednisolone, clexane, asprin?

    Really Dr Nick recommended it!

What else did he say to you? My last appointment with him I was so upset as he said he's only had a 40% success rate with these treatments.

    So my protocol is
    Cd1- asprin and Dex
    5 days before ovulation intralipids
    At ovulation- clexane

Keep taking the Dex but stop clexane if I get a bfn.

I've also started gluten free diet which I'm about 3 months into it, it's actually not that hard, and I started dairy free a week ago, when I start cycling I'll try to massively cut back on sugar. Plus I'm taking 4x fish oil tablets a day. And also started taking Caltrate as the Dex can lead to bone density loss, plus I'm not having really any calcium as no dairy.

@Dizzy82 good call on the vitamins-did you read the study that found fish oil study reduced NK cells by 48% (at a dose of 720mg EPA daily though) so I take 3 of the triple strength ones.. Same, I started Caltrate too to balance the steroids...

Do you know if you & DH are a partial or complete DQ Alpha match? Because partial match = embryos 50% won't invoke an immune response if I'm not mistaken?

At my appointment we just discussed the DQ alpha match & he took a biopsy to test for the NK cells...

@Riaki what fish oil do you take? I'm just taking the black mores one which is 1g and I'm taking 4 tablets a day, maybe I should get a different one. I'm also taking coq10.

Our DQAlpha result was me 01:01 and 03:01 but my husband is 01:01, so although we're not a full match, every embryo will match me. His parents were obviously a match, and had 2 kids no probs. I've got a 2 year old, 1 mc and one chemical prior to him, then I had a 10 wk mc in sept last year.

@Dizzy82 so sorry to hear about your losses. What's your DH second number? Sounds like ours, I mustn't understand the concept yet?
    Me 1.01:4.1, DH 4.1:4.1

    Combination 1:1.01, 4.1
    Combination 2:1.01, 4.1
    Combination 3:4.1, 4.1
    Combination 4:4.1, 4.1

    50% will only match me?

I take 3 x Nature's Own Triple Strength fish oil daily...

@Dizzy82 I'm doing ok I guess. DH and I just had a few days away from everything for our 10 year anniversary. I think it's just what we needed as we were both an emotional mess and are feeling a bit better now.
Our first cycle on intralipids we ended with a bfn, that was really upsetting but you just have to move on. I am cd13 now, had intralipids yesterday and will O next Thursday. For some reason intralipids makes me feel really sick for a day or too which isn't nice but what can you do?
How are you doing? @Riaki how are you doing?
I will keep in touch and let you know how we go this cycle, fingers crossed for a bfp so we can see if all this treatment will work.

Default High NK cells and possible DQ Alpha gene match

Hi @Carlar78, congratulations on your anniversary! Hope you had a lovely break!

Going ok, booked in for LIT round 1 in early May so waiting for that... Have started reading the Alan Beer book, even sneaking away on my work lunch break to tuck in a few more pages, thoroughly enlightening & so far it's so positive! Explains so much about all the tests that Dr N ran, and it's definitely made me feel more positive about tackling these pesky (but hey, advanced!) immune issues. Especially when the success rates are reiterated!

    @Carlar78

Sorry to hear about your bfn, but since we're doing it naturally, we can't expect to get preg on every cycle even without immune issues!
Happy 10th wedding anniversary. What are your DQ numbers? Did you say you have a daughter? How old?

We'll be starting to try this coming month. I'm seeing nick Tues for my 2nd round of LIT, and I've asked if I can see him for 5 mins while I'm there as I'm going to ask if I can do clomid or femara this month as my last cycle i ovulated on day 40!! Not sure why, I'm usually very consistent with day 20.
Also @Riaki I'm starting to learn that there are other alternatives if intrapilids and dex, clexane don't work, so the 40% success rate is with those, not just overall if that makes sense. I think he does IVIG, and I know there's a doc in New York he swears by neupogen (dr n calls it filgrastim) and I asked him about it and he said he'd only do it on an ivf cycle, not natural.
