    Default Hello fellow pcos sufferers

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site and have just signed up after reading so many helpful things I can relate to.

I am 25yo, married and have been trying to conceive for just over a year now.
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and have just begun taking Diaformin (metformin) as prescribed by my hormone specialist.
I have read great things and look forward to conceiving.

If anyone has any tips and/or is I'm my position and whats some support and a friend to go through it all with, please email me.

    Hi Kay,

I joined last night and am also TTC with PCOS. I am 29 I stopped taking the pill in Jan and having trouble with my periods not arriving. I haven't seen a fertility specialist yet. This site looks like it has a lot of helpful people so hopefully we can both get the information and support we are looking for.

    Hi Mrstassie,

Thankyou for your reply... I was hoping to make a friend I can share my journey with on here and help give any tips and info to.
I was very shocked when diagnosed with PCOS and hadn't even heard anything of it before.
I found that I had PCOS though various test for ongoing nausea I was experiencing daily with no reason. I thought I was pregnant and began having series of test.
Doctors still to this day can't figure out why I get headaches and nausea & say that PCOS doesn't cause it.

I hope the Diaformin doesn't cause too much more sickness then i already get and I just hope to conceive soon.

Stay in touch and good luck 😊

Hello I'm Jessica, 22. Diagnosed with PCOS at age 12, and got an unexpected BFP yesterday.

I don't know much about advice re: conception, but I thought I'd say hi

    Hi ladies 😊
I'm 30 and have PCOS as well, diagnosed at 12 like Jessica.
I ended up having to go through IVF to conceive - I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant with our first!
I did try Clomid prior to IVF without success, and because of my age my DH and I decided to go straight to IVF rather than leave it later. So glad we did! Our first try we only retrieved one egg because I didn't respond well to the hormones (which explains why none of the previous treatments worked I think) but the one egg fertilised well and here we are!
For me, it seems to just have been the hurdle of ovulation - getting that egg out of the ovary because once it was in the womb everything else has so far (touch wood!) run like clockwork.

Fellow pcos'er here. I'm 25 and had my first 7 weeks ago after trying for 16months. My problem was also that I wasn't ovulating. The first time I ovulated I was lucky enough to catch the egg.

    Hi @jashika & @jaybu84

Thankyou for your messages every little bit of info is helpful and re assuring.

I started Metformin 2 nights ago and woke up this morning terribly Ill.
I have been on the toilet with bad pains, diarrhoea and nausea.
I want to stop taking it just until after my sisters wedding next week as I can't afford to feel so ill with work and wedding prep.

Anyone else on metformin or been on it before and have any tips with coping or stopping?

    Muchly appreciated 😊

Ohh that sucks about the metformin! I haven't been on it myself - but a friend who has had it also had a bad reaction initially. She only took it after eating (so full stomach) and found that milk helped as well - it didn't take away all the symptoms but reduced the nausea. Apparently it takes around a month for your body to get used it and certain foods can make it worse - I can't remember what though but I'm sure if you google it would be listed somewhere.

Fingers crossed it's just an adjustment period for you! 👍😊

I also have PCOS and have been trying for nearly nine months now..... I did manage to get pregnant in September but had a missed miss carriage this month
. I also don't ovulate very often so it was very lucky we got pregnant at all. what I have learnt is that sometimes OPK's don't work as they should - in my case I was getting 'false positives' ...the LH was detected as a surge but my body didn't push out the egg like it should have. this lead to multiple 'positives' in one cycle (which also happened to last 2 and a half months!)
