My DD won an art set at school - and its great.

You could make it up yourself though

    hers has
    - sketch pad (thick paper)
    - another book of really thick card for drawing
    - watercolour pencils
    - good quality graphite lead pencils
    - good quality rubber
    - good quality watercolour paints
    - an A3 canvas

you could add some scrapbooking tools like a cutting mat, cutter and stamps if she was crafty

    She LOVES it

We spent more than normal this year because we got tech stuff. We've spent about $600 over the 4 children, aged 8, 6, 4 and 2 years.

    DD:
Samsung galaxy 8" tab and case

    DS1 and DS2:
    Nintendo 2DS and case each
    3x games

    DS3:
    Kinetic sand

    For everyone:
A few board games I grabbed earlier in the year.

Just need to get a couple of small stocking fillers and that's it. All presents are from us, as we don't include Santa

DS is 18 months. I don't really have a budget but we're moving to a house with a backyard and cubby house plus more indoor room just before Xmas so I could go crazy. At this stage, I'm thinking a kitchen for the cubby house, table and chairs for inside and a dump truck or similar for the sand pit. I'll also get him some books as I don't think that you can ever have enough books (plus I love buying books). I probably need to get some decent book storage too as I've run out f roo on our bookcases. Will also get a new outfit I think.

I have got a new ipad mini - and DH has his own ipad for work ... so DD is getting the old ipad (what was the family ipad) as her own. She is absolutely ecstatic with the idea of it being her own.

I am getting her a new case and probably an itunes voucher to go with it.

From Santa (yes, she is 8 and still believes in Santa ) probably a small lego set or something.

We have just had a major holiday, and she has soooo much stuff, so will be a little more low key this year

I wouldn't bother with this. My DD (3) got one for her birthday from a friend and it went straight in the bin. Was awful and honestly a waste of money.
