    Default Christmas Lunch Menu :)

What's on your menu this Christmas?

I was pregnant last Christmas (miscarriage in Feb) and now I'll be 35 weeks this Christmas, so I will be missing out on the naughty stuff for the second year in a row. BOOO!
The good news is I don't have GD this time though, so I can eat whatever I want, within the normal guidelines for pregnancy of course.
Also, this is an extra special year because I will have my pregnant sister and her partner here too.
So I want to make an extra special effort.
It will be her last Aussie Christmas as she's moving back home to have her baby. Double BOOOOO!

I would LOVE to do prawns as we all love them but they're a no-no aren't they? O cook them myself? Not sure.

    I need a ideas.

I think you could cook them yourself and they would be fine. We are having a traditional roast lunch, baked ham, roast chook, roast pork and roast veg, green veg and gravy/sauces. Not sure on dessert yet

Yes as long as they are properly cooked they are fine to eat while pregnant - just not oysters or raw fish and just make sure the prawns are cooked through - I would buy fresh green raw prawns and cook them on the bbq maybe with lime butter or garlic chilli oil

Prawns should be fine if they are brought fresh and then you cook them thoroughly and eat them while hot - so you could do garlic prawns or marinated prawns cooked on skewers on the bbq something like this :
http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/s...th-summer-veg/ but you could do any flavours you like - lime and chilli is yum.

You could have a baked ham too, as long as you serve it straight from the oven and eat it hot.

For my lunch menu we are have cold prawns and smoked salmon plus antipasto nibbles to start and then a roast pork with sage stuffing and a roast chicken with pistachio and cranberry stuffing and I'm doing some different salads on the side (It'll probably be over 40 degrees here on the day)

Dessert I'm doing fresh fruit salad, layered Christmas jelly cups for the kids and a pav.

    Hehe, no probs @misskittyfantastico

    I love his food.
