I did not sleep last night because it was this day that I received bad news from the embryologist in my last 2 cycles (1 not great blast each time). The embryologist said she hasn't had a long look at them, she just got into the clinic went straight to my embryos and rushed to the phone to give me the news, now she'll go back and look at them more closely and take biopsies. Phew. I'll get a day 6 update tomorrow. Now for the 3 or 4 week wait for CGH results. This process has taught me not to get ahead of myself. But for today, I'm happy.

I've been enjoying the chat about pee sticks, it's given me a giggle.

And, the counselling. It's a pretty essential service the clinics provide and I have seen the counsellor on numerous occasions. Faith, you mentioned the session being about stuff other than ivf, well I can relate. I have ear bashed my counsellor about my work stress at least as much as ivf issues.

Petal, reckon you could be POAS right about now?

Bongley, the issue of when to stop weighs heavily on most of us I reckon. And Luckyme is right about not making our decisions emotionally but that's so difficult.
I tend to cling to those one off stories of 45 year olds conceiving naturally etc, bit of a long shot with a blocked Fallopian tube here. My sonographer reminds me all the time that her grandmother had her mother at 48!
That's great news @Skyler ! You must be very pleased with that, hope the wait passes quickly for you.
I chickened out from the POAS today. DH had to go to work early, and my daughter & I are doing movies & hanging out today, didn't want to spoil the day with a possible BFN. Thought I'd just enjoy one more day being blissfully PUPO. Tomorrow will have to be the day. BT Monday, and I'm working, so I need to be prepared ☺️

Hi ladies. Oh wow trying to catch up and there is about 13 pages since I was last on bh. So here goes and sorry if I miss anyone.
@faithandhopellove lots of hugs to you after your terrible time. I hope things start to look up for you. Xx
@Skyler what great numbers of eggs you got! I hope your CGH results are good and will have fingers crossed for you.
@Butterfly39 I am using a lucrin trigger tonight and although it is much more expensive I liked the idea of being able to control the dosage as opposed to synarel.
@winsor I am so sorry to hear about your embies. I really hope you can get some feedback on what happened and that your next cycle is more successful
@Chillout71 @Leisylou @Petal40 good luck with your 2ww and I hope you all manage to fight the urge to become addicted to POAS!
@MissDa and @snickers74 welcome! This is a great group of girls and you will find them a fantastic support
@Bongley it is Ok to blub while going through this really crappy journey. I hope you and DH can come to an agreement that leaves you both at peace. Regardless of what you decide.

AFM I take my trigger in about an hour and am so relieved to be coming to an end in this cycle. I have been on pain relief since Tuesday... like seriously on pain relief. .as in I can't get through longer than 4-6 hours without taking panadeine. I had put off my first scan because I started my new job this week in addition to that, there was not much more they could do for me if my follicles weren't developing anyway (I have been on maximum meds).

So it was after a few days of drug induced haze that I rocked up for my scan yesterday (amazing how casual you get after a few ivf cycles) for my FS to stop counting once he got to 12 follicles in each ovary... his words "there is so much congestion in there so you want me to keep counting?" Me.."Um. .are you sure they are MY ovaries you are looking at? At least 24 follicles? You know the girl who is lucky to get 2 eggs in a cycle? " Bloody hell! No wonder I can barely walk!

So it is with excitement (and relief) that I am preparing for EPU on Monday.

I just have to remember that follicles don't translate to eggs for me, eg I have had 14 follies and only had 2 viable eggs retrieved. But it is the best start I have ever had. So hoping that there is at least 1 good one in there!

Ps the only difference with this cycle was we added 5 days of Lucrin

Well after a year of BFNs, it's taken until my 5th cycle to be able to do a happy dance (although I cried at the time lol) 😊
Just got to get good numbers tomorrow on my BT. ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1422736963.509021.jpg

Yes! Petal! That's a really strong second line! Congratulations. That hcg level will be great, I'd wager at least 300! So exciting!! I'm hoping to emulate your 5th cycle success.

And Fudge, congratulations on the glut of follicles! Even if they don't all contain mature eggs you'd think you'll be getting more than a handful. Well done. Makes the pain worth it (?!)

See us old ducks are not done yet!
