I am scared of what it will be like. I am scared of what I will see when the baby is born. Most of all I am scared that it will be the only baby I ever hold.

My eggs are not great quality, I only had 2 eggs retrieved on this cycle and was so proud of my one little egg that fertilised and became this baby. It has fought so hard to be here and I know that for us it is not a matter of "just getting pregnant".

I am also worried for my gorgeous, strong, supportive DH who is absolutely broken by today's events.

Thank you so much just for being there. Your support is something I will always remember from this time.

@Fudge09 the hospital staff will look after you. I imagine they will have a specialist team to help you through this terrible time, my brother and his wife did when they had their still born daughter. Take care and I hope with all of my heart that you find another golden embryo and you do get your take home baby.

@Fudge09 I am so so sorry. My heart goes out to you and I wish you courage and strength to get through tomorrow. You must be in absolute shock...

A friend recently lost her baby at 19 weeks, she told me that holding and spending time with her daughter after delivery were incredibly important to her and to her family's healing. They were even able to take her home for a time. She said she was tiny but looked very much like a fully developed baby, and they were also given the opportunity to have her photographed.

I'm sure the hospital will guide you through this, and Pregnancy Loss Australia may also be able to answer any questions you have. They have a hotline I think http://www.pregnancylossaustralia.org.au/

    xx

Sending you massive hugs @Fudge09 - unfortunately I know how this feels although I wasn't as far along and it's truly one of the hardest things to go through.. Your heart will break, but it does get easier. You'll get through this and tomorrow, but you'll never forget. God I feel for you. It is indeed a very perilous journey over 40.

Where do you get your pessaries from? I get 60 400mg ones for 160 from a compounding chemist here in Sydney.

From the clinic, so of course they charge a fortune. You don't need a script to buy them?

I recently paid $45 for 15x200mg pessaries at Slades in Melbourne. They compound their own. If you're on Crinone gel, that is way more expensive.

What progesterone tablets are you taking? I've never come across tablets for progesterone in my time doing IVF, although I've heard people mention progesterone creams online. I thought pessaries were preferable as they get straight to the right location :-)
