Default Australian made (maybe owned too) products

I don't know how everyone else thinks, but I see lots of production closing down all the time and Australian companies sending work off-shore. Either that or being bought out completely.

If I know that one product is made in Australia and costs not much more than another I will buy that product.

Thought I may start up a thread for people to share products that they have come across that are Australian made.

Obviously fresh meat is. Some processed meat isn't so you need to check that. A lot of the time with bacon it will be labelled with imported and australian but all they mean is that the smoking agent is imported and the actual meat is australian.

I think Huggies nappies might still be made in Australia, as is Kleenex toilet paper.

Aldi tinned fruit I think might be australian now as well.

Interesting about the tinned fruit. I've been finding it harder to find Australian tinned pineapple.

Golden Circle is tinned from Australian fruit in Northgate, Qld. They also own the Black Label fruit juice.

Default Australian made (maybe owned too) products

I thought Golden Circle stopped being Australian owned around 2009/10?

ETA sorry, I thought the OP was asking for specifically Australian made and owned products.

So many modern cloth nappies are made overseas now too. Green Kids brand nappies and Sustainable Hemp Products nappies are still Australian made and owned though.

Absolutely correct (I do a bit of work in this area). I have asked at Coles deli before when they didn't have any Aussie bacon and they checked the boxes for me, Primo is Australian but they use imported smoking ingredients. And from gossip I've heard Primo is free range/born free range pork too.

I've been told the Aldi nappies are now made in Australia (along with Huggies). Aldi formula (Mamia) is also marked as made in Australia. I had to stop using the formula though as it's a Gold and baby got a but constipated with it.

I buy all the Earth Choice/Natures Organics products as they are Australian made and owned. And don't contain harsh chemicals.

Australian made with Australian produce is the main concern I think with the thread. Using locally farmed products and sustaining local jobs. It's great if it's owned as well, but then I figure that it's money going to one owner or group of owners and we can't control what they do with their money.
