    Default Eczema in BF babies

My 5mo DS has started to develop really bad eczema all over his body. It started just on his face but now it's all over his torso, back, arms and even legs. I am off to the GP later in the week and am wondering if they will suggest something in my diet is causing it? I use sensitive washing powder, keep him cool and mostly cotton clothing etc but its not helping. He didnt have it as a newborn it's really just developed this past month so I'm a bit confused. Theres no family history either side. Thanks in advance for any advice!

It could be diet. It could also be an allergy to something like pollen. My mr 3 and I have both got shocking flare ups of eczema at the moment because of pollen or something. Make sure to only wash him in water (and not too often or hot) and keep him well moisturised. I use coconut oil on us and it's great

It's possible, but there are SO many possible triggers for eczema. Has anything changed in your environment recently?

The main trigger for my daughter as a bub was soap - of any kind. We couldn't put any kind of products in her bath, or use baby shampoo etc. We took to washing her only in water, and using sorbelene when it flared up. The only real trigger now is food left on her skin. So if she eats anything and around her mouth isn't cleaned well with water, then it flares up.

One other thought is heat rash - is that a possibility rather than eczema given the warming weather?

My ds' eczema flares up when I have been having alot of dairy.
Although my chn and dr dont think what I eat affects it, it seems to always happen when I have alotbof chocolate/ice cream.
I put a stocking of rolled oats in my dd's bath when she gets a bad outbreak.
