My DD had something similar a couple of weeks ago, except it was everywhere. It spread very quickly too.

Doc said allergy snd cortisone treatment worked so I tend to agree. It was weird though as it's absolutely nothing like her usual allergy rashes (she is very allergic to lots of things so always breaking out)

Could be a viral rash? Has she had any cold like symptoms or a temp at all? Poor little one.

What's the temperature there? It looks like either heat rash or baby acne.

DD has allergies and that's definitely not an allergy rash.

It could also be a viral rash, maybe he has a sore throat? If it's that, it can't be treated. Is it bothering him?

My son used to get rashes like that towards the end of colds (viral rash) he was treated with antihistamine (Phernergan) and oral steroids on one occasion when it was really bad. Best get It checked by a GP though incase of allergies.

Gosh, I hate rashes. I'm horribly paranoid about them.

DS had a similar rash and we took him to hospital. After taking blood and waiting for him to pee on someone (daddy), we got told that it was probably just a viral rash and nothing to worry about. There were no other symptoms aside from a mild fever and he was just recovering from a bad cold, so we went home with instructions to check in with our GP if it got worse.

Having kids makes you realise just how much (educated) guesswork goes into medicine sometimes!
