Smiggle. Smiggle. Smiggle. And more Smiggle. She loves the thick textas, diaries, notebooks, backpacks.

she spends hours drawing, cutting, pasting.

We've given Smiggle to about 5 of her friends for their birthdays this year, they do some good packs for about $25.

If Smiggle is not an option then other diaries, stickers, notebooks, sticky tape (and dispenser), ruler, ream of paper, desk stationery (k-mart have a good range).

My Miss also loves the Billie.B.Brown series of books. They are chapter books for kids who are past basic readers.

I'm going to say smiggle as well.

We have a smiggle obsessed 6 year old in this house.

I only have a ds to compare.. But at 6 we got him a small boom box speaker to play music we downloaded onto an old iPod. He loved it. Would dance and listen to music all day of you let him.

Lego is always a winner. Anything art and craft related. There is a Lego storage system for Pens and pencils that is pretty cool to sit ontop of their desk.

Otherwise maybe a voucher? My ds loves to shop with his own 'money' or gift voucher. It might not seem like a big deal to us, but to a kid having $20 to spend is like all your Christmas's come at once.

Ds got a movie ticket and lolly bar voucher once- he loved it and couldn't wait to use it.
