Perhaps this mother gives her child coke often and just doesnt care that its bad for her. Perhaps she was stressed and made a bad decision in the spur of the moment. My point is that you just Dont know. Thats it. You saw a few moments of her life. You have absolutely no idea about what she does every day or why she did what she did. I make a concerted effort not to judge people because I know that I know nothing about their lives.

i just felt sorry for the kid ..........
Just wanted to add to this that I hope you didn't see my post as attacking or negative. I was trying to explain why we(dp and I) occasionally give coke.

Other posters are right in that some things that can be seen as bad judgments on the parents behalf are really just a one sided glimpse into day to day life that can give the appearance of bad choices when in fact it could be genuine reasons behind it. But others are right too in that it is quite probably bad choices on the parents behalf.

But I think it is a good thing that you were shocked. It goes to show it's not something you would consider a normal drink to give a young one.

I don't think it needs to be closed. I have learned some things as well. Like the caffeine helping stabilize the sugar levels of a diabetic.
