Ta heaps @Kelly70. I asked for clarification on solid too! Your initial list of priorities look like mine right now! I've been trawling through Monash's list today and have it narrowed down to two. My 1st preference is a brand new young unproven donor. My 2nd preference is an older proven donor (7 children, all of the same gender). Can you find out sperm quality with Monash? And what do you do when the donors provide no family medical history?! My gut instinct draws me to my 1st preference but TTC common sense is telling me to go with the 2nd preference. Any experienced thoughts? @Jem70 I hope you got that smooch! Soooo jealous!!!

    Default Starting IVF Mar/Apr 2014 - aged 43, single #3

@Tahli: I'd be put off if the donors provided no family medical history (I thought they had to, all the ones I saw had). I also prioritized ones that I knew had already created babies for ppl - what better proof that he is fertile!! I'm not sure on finding out about quality for use with ivf - I think they have a small pool of very high quality sperm donors that they keep for iui and non-ICSI ivf procedures though. I remember Lynn asking me to have the donor nurse assign me a high quality donor for my next cycle (she had planned to try a natural fert in the test tube and not ICSI my eggs again, too fragile).
@missybear, I think @vixjc advice on going straight to d&c if you can is a good one - I found that once I'd officially miscarried all I wanted then was to get to hospital and have it all taken out of me ASAP. The quicker you can move on the better.. But that was just me. I hope you and your DH are holding up as well as can be expected lovely.

I was prepping for my apt today last night and going through all the stuff in my fertility related file (pretty fat it is too) to collect some history for today's Sydney apt.. Every time I stumble across the scan results from my miscarriage, it just catches at your heart.. Still can't believe it when I see the 11 weeks, 6 days stamp.. I was so close!! So cruel to have it whipped out from under your nose at the last minute - so I'm feeling you @missybear. You never forget but you will bounce back.

Pretty underwhelmed by having to fly to Syd today.. Just had the thought, am I really doing this ffs, with the odds?? But at least it's a little adventure today and I don't have to go to work!! I've left myself stupid amounts of time on either sides of the flight so I guess I'll be doing a bit of an airport hang today.

Oh Kelly good luck. I'm further north in NSW (in the Hunter) houses have floated down the river, it's been the equivalent of a category 2 cyclone. Our airport is closed, hoping Sydney airport is open for you and you don't get delayed.

OMG @Skyler, not the beautiful Hunter!! Talk about a shocker of a storm.

I'm just now at Sydney airport scoffing some food before I dash to my apt at 2pm. 4 hours later!! Will only just make it.
