Wonderful news @Biscotti71 Sending lots of baby dust your way
My clinic (Genea) only does day 5. A day 3 or 4 embie would still be in the Fallopian tube, not emerging into the uterus til day 5. Another reason is that many embryos with chromosomal problems won't live til day 5 (although many do) and so they are weeded out. That's Genea's principles, I know other clinics do day 3 transfers.
@Biscotti71 Although what Skyler says is true and Wazza is also a great believer in growing them out until Day 5, as you can see from my signature, Day 3 transfers also work too and there are loads of women who've gotten pregnant doing them as well
Some FS are of the opinion that they're better in than out especially when you're dealing with low numbers of embryo's to begin with and others like Wazza and obviously Skylar's FC believe in growing them out until Day 5 regardless of whether there's 1 in the dish or 10. Has your FS given you an opinion??
Is there any way you can speak to an Embyrologist. They often have opinions of their own and I do remember one of mine saying that Day 5 is also used as a selection technique when there's a good cohort of embryo's so that they know which one's are the best for transferring/freezing.
At the end of the day, I say go with your gut feeling as to what day transfer you want to do. If the embryo has got what it takes to implant, it's going to keep going whether you put it in at Day 3 or Day 5 in my opinion
Woohoo Biscotti! Awesome news! Sending tonnes of your way!
Scan went well 7.5 - so there's the green light!
Decided to do a Day3 transfer tomorrow and then grow the other out to Day5 and freeze.
Feeling sick with anticipation....
