Jem, that is horrific! What an appalling attitude and lack of empathy they have! Time for a dummy spit me thinks!!

Nereid - I'm so sorry hon, nothing makes those BFN's easier. Wishing you lots of luck for whichever path you choose from here xxx

@Jem70 WTF?? I repeat..WTF??? Utterly unacceptable!! How fkng rude!! No, that's just not on my girl!! I've always spoken directly to the embryologist(s) in the lab as of Day 2 onwards. I only rang the FS's rooms to get initial fertilisation reports and from then on I called the lab for daily updates...Any chance you've got or can get their number??

If you're FS is uncontactable until Monday, I'd go to the clinic head honcho's and pretty much lose my sh*t until I got an answer as well as write a complaint. Really not good enough..I know you know this both your little embies are chilling out in the freezer!!xoxo

It's Melb IVF - considering they are one of the top 2 in Melbourne, they leave a lot to be decided.
@Jem70 was there some difference in process because you were freezing this time as opposed to going to transfer? What reason did they give?

AFM: currently fielding baby names for my best friend who is 41 and 8 weeks pregnant naturally. JOY!! Slightly painful because 2 years ago, she and I were doing the same thing for my pregnancy. As she says: ****ty upside down world we live in sometimes.

Nereid I am so sorry for your bfn. I know how you feel as I have experienced it twice recently... It's always disheartening to see a bfn. Sending you big hugs xx

Jem 70 that's not fair, they should be telling you all the info over the ph rather than just letters...

Kelly 77 congratulations for your girl! Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes like a breeze..you are an inspiration for us.

Kelly 70 it's nice to read your updates about your meetings with your guy. Good luck for all your future decisions...

BlondinBrisvegas , Skyler, LittleSparrow74 and all of you I mentioned above .....thanks all of you who wished me for making and freezing 2 blasts this cycle..... We are taking a months break before we do fet. Let's see what happens. After my 2 pgd normal embies not working last year, I have really started thinking this ivf is just a gamble ...my good luck to all of you

Thanks everyone. I was starting to wonder if I was being unreasonable. I've never going straight to freeze on a cycle before so maybe this is there process. I have never spoken to an embryologist so it does seem to indicate the MIVF policy is minimum contact. I do notice that they always manage to deduct the monster bucks from my credit card quick smart though!

Thanks again for the encouragement - I rang back this morning and got a different nurse who wouldn't give me details but was happy to check final numbers. She was surprised I hadn't heard from my FS so was willing to bend the rules.

the disappointing news is I only got one to freeze at day 2. One is better than none, but for all that effort and only day 2, not even a blast, I'm pretty shattered.

So im going to be grateful for the 2 in the freezer and retire gracefully from any further egg collections. I do think the signs are there that time has run out.

im going to take a couple of months break before I consider transfer.

i will be watching and cheering you all here on the sidelines for now! Good luck everyone!

@Jem70 I'm so sorry you're feeling shattered. I hope some time away from all this can give you some perspective and courage to face whatever will be. There's still hope in those little embies you have, and really there is just no telling what will stick and what won't - part of the miracle of this life-making business. I wish I could say we'll all leave here with what we long for if we just stick at it, but I know in my heart that it's not true, and while optimism's really important, accepting that possibility is too. Sending hugs x

Jem70 I'm so sorry to hear about the disappointment and discouragement you are feeling at this moment This IVF business sure is tough. Much harder than I ever could have imagined before I started myself. Big hugs to you and sending positive thoughts that one (or both) of the embies you have will stick when you're ready to go to transfer xx

Nereid very sorry about your BFN. Big hugs to you too and I hope with a bit of time you get the clarity you need to determine your next steps forward xx

AFM I'm impatiently waiting for AF to arrive so I can get my 2nd cycle underway. I'm usually bang on 29 days and am on day 35 now and I'm still waiting. Grrrrr. Once AF arrives then I have to ring Waz's clinic and book in for a scan on Day 6 and then will start injecting.

Hi to all the other ladies

Nereid well said. It's a harsh reality that we may never get there. As much as optimism is a good thing, false hope can be a hinderance. I've had dark moments of reality where I know I might be one of the ones who does not make it. And all the baby dust in the world won't change what will be.
Jem I think you are handling this amazingly well.
