    Hi Vixjc
ive often thought to myself that if a person were going all that way for an embryo transfer then you would put in as many as possible.
yes my family member does have her hands full, they have been finding three very hard. But they get a lot of extra help luckily.

Gosh, thanks for your replies everyone. Fairly clear verdict there! I've spoken to the FS who does my scans and she agreed double was a good idea, so that's what we'll try. I think I'm mainly just scared that if I miraculously conceived twins and lost them, that I'd blame myself for choosing 2, but you are absolutely right that the odds are so low and I have everything to gain by trying 2.
As for growing the embies on, if we do a second round we will ask for longer, especially as we got 12 eggs. As I understand it my FS believes in utero is the best place for embies to grow, and that some that don't make it in the lab would have made it if they'd been transferred. But it's a harder call when time is such a factor, and of course it does mean going through transfers that are never going to take. I made a decision early on that I'd put my trust in him, he's a terrific doctor, conventional in some ways but as well researched as anyone, and he's a good man and I don't believe it's a cash grab.
Transfer #4 and 5 will be Thursday

Thanks so much for your advice, lovelies x

I think double transfer over 40 absolutely. No brainer.

Okay I did the big sneaky - I rang monash and asked for my exact plan for next cycle and wrote it all down. Then I emailed my old FS assistant mentioning my own researched plan and that I still had 2 shots with my donor that I was keen not to forfeit. Mentioned any further cycles as part of my regret management process (think she'd find it hard to say No to that surely). Assistant emailed back to say she had sent it on to FS. See what happens, I'm still not 100% sure on whether I will do it yet - just want to see if it's possible.

12 is fantastic @Nereid I think there is a good chance there is a keeper in there with those numbers.

I was told the chance of triplets was less than 5% and twins less than 30%. They said my best chance of getting pregnant with a single was to transfer 3 ... And here I am 😊. I figured after all I'd done to that point, and how far I'd travelled, I was going to throw everything at it ... The cynic in me also thought the chances of me getting pregnant with triplets was zilch! We'll go back next year to try for a sibling (my donor is cycling now and by the end of the month I should know how many frosties we've got) and I'll transfer 3 again.

Hi @Vixjc, thanks for the info on numbers to transfer - 3 sounds scary but given the statistics it's levelled out a bit. And you've got the proof in the pudding - should I say in your belly!! Lol. Good luck with the next trip for a sibling x
I'm gathering info re: clinics for DE (I have a DH so sperm is no issue)
What is the name of ur clinic and how highly do you rate it given what you know now? ✨

I hope so Jem! I was thinking the other day about how much has changed and how much I've changed since we first began TTC. It's hard to remember what life was like before - so weightless by comparison. I'm ready for it to be over and don't know how much longer I can go on with this. Hope you're doing ok and feeling good about plans for last embie and new cycle.

Hi ladies, I've been away on holidays and so much to catch up on! Haven't got through it all yet so apologies if I miss anyone. @Sue77 & @Jem70 I'm sorry about your bfn. I hope you're both doing ok xx @Kelly70 - what's your next step? Are you giving it another go?
Am I had my first scan yesterday & all is well. It was a huge relief, I was quite emotional as I didn't realise how anxious I was. Every day I think I'm going to lose the baby as I still can't believe i got pregnant so feel like it's not going to last. It's silly I know but i feel
like I can't get excited yet as there's still a long way to go. So it was nice to hear the heartbeat and know that so far things are going well.
Bubs is measuring 9 weeks now even tho by my dates I'm 8 weeks so it's growing fast!
I've been really lucky in terms of no morning sickness and generally feeling pretty we apart from the tiredness and a few severe headaches.
So 12 weeks scan should be just before Xmas so hopefully everything will be fine and we will have the greatest present ever!

@Kellyk77 congratulations! That is wonderful news. @Kelly70, well done for taking the bull by the horns. @Nereid you could miraculously conceive twins and not lose them. I'm glad you are going to transfer two. It's interesting how there are two schools of thought as to when is the best to put back the emby. If you were to talk to my fs she would say absolutely no , better to grow them out. I know Monash like to grow them out and Melbourne ivf like to put them in day 2 or 3. Anyway good luck Nereid I will be following all your stories in anticipation. @Jem when do you do your next cycle?
