Default Hope :: Low Ovarian Reserve

    Hello,
I've just joined this site, but have been reading all the comments and learning so much.
I'm 35, and 6 weeks ago was diagnosed with LOR. Only 3 antral follicles (one decent one) and very low AMH. We also had male infertility. 0% normal forms, poor motility.
We started taking DHEA, melatonin heaps of supps, Accupuncture.
We started IVF and 4 follicles responded ( only 2 large).
At collection we retrieved only 3 eggs. All appeared mature.using ICSI 2 fertilised and are now grade 1embryos.1 to be transferred this Sat, 1 for freeze.
This is an excellent result. I just wanted to post in case anyone else was only seeing 2 mature follicles and were despairing as I was.

    Thats great news @mrsminards

We have had a few women post questions about doing IVF with low AMH, wondering if it was worth trying. I hope they read of your experience.

Good luck, I hope we get to hear about your BFP

Thanks for the best wishes. We have a long way to go. It's not over till the fat baby screams.
Regardless of the outcome, pursuing collection with low AMH & only 2 mature follicles was definately worth the try. Every egg has it's own unique chance of success .
Our clinic is Genea. Happy to share the list of meds and supplements if anyone is interested.

Hello again, I just thought I would give an update. Unfortunately our 2nd embie arrested, and the transfer was BFN.
I was so heartbroken. I started to feel like my low AMH and antral follicle count could not be overcome.
We made a snap decision to start a new IVF cycle straight away - it felt like the only way I could cope with my grief.
Early scans indicated only 2 mature follicles. My DR decided to stretch out the stimming. By scan 4 we had 9 mature follicles.
Yesterday's collection yielded 8 eggs, 7 of which were mature and have fertilised. Fingers crossed.
I just thought id share to illustrate how in the same protocol you can get such different results - 2 mature eggs vs 8.
And that getting straight back into a cycle seems to have been a good move.
Fingers crossed this time! I'm not getting excited yet, but the odds certainly look better
