Congrats @jodieleigh78 and @Innergoddess you must be both so thrilled!!! Anyone else waiting on offers today or in another round?
@nursingchik will you be able to do your timetable on the same day you enrol? You're so lucky! I enrolled last month and the timetable preferences don't open until early Feb, its really frustrating because I can't organise care for the kiddies etc until the timetable is set.

    Congrats!!
Yeah I have to go online at 9am and enrol in the classes I want. Each subject has several classes at different times and I pick which ones I want and hope that I can get them before they fill up.

Woo hoo! Excellent news!! Well be classmates! Looking forward to locking in timetable on 4th Feb, then trying to work out childcare for my 2 boys.
    Well done!

Thanks Gothel - I hear you on not being able to get things organised!!! Our timetable opens at the end of January and we're due to start mid- Feb. Not a lot of time to get things sorted. Thankfully mine are all at school and because I have to travel and live in Melb during the week - the headaches are my h's!

Hi all, I've been a long time stalker of this thread and have finally built up the courage to post... (I think its from the excitement of all the offers)
I have accepted an offer to do Nursing at Newcastle uni, Ourimbah campus, but am hoping for an offer to do B Mid at Newcastle (Callaghan campus) on Wednesday. Then if I get in I have some serious thinking to do as I'm not sure if I would be able to do the B Mid (my dream course) as it takes me 1.5 hours alone to get to campus and I am a single mum :/

Congrats to everyone on their offers!!!

Congratualtions on your Nursing offerI have a few cents worth here because I too had to decide what I shoudl do due to distance (4 hours from campus) but also what I could do with my degree when I was finished. For me too, my dream was BMidw, I had started Nursing and completed EN when the first batch of kids (I have two batches!) were very young - it was right at the time, the only way to get into Mid was through RN and to do RN I had to travel 1.5 hrs as a single mum!! Sound familiar? Again - right now I could travel 1.5hrs and do a dual degree (adding a year) but I wouldn't be doing what I want....BUT my circumstances are so different now.... and BMid is offered as direct entry AND my kids are much more grown, add in the extra help with a husband who wants to look after the kids during the week (well, he may not be that excited but he's doing it!)
Another HUGE factor in my decision was employability. In my area I won't be very employable - but I just don't care...and I have that luxury with the back up of a partner. Seems things are opening up locally I've heard recently but I may have to work in the big city for a while - I have that flexibility...

So think about what will happen when you get out, as well as what will happen now - will Nursing give you the flexibility to work for a couple of years, let the kids grow and your savings too, will Nursing allow you experience (there is much to be gained) and then you can shoot a quick year (I think) to add Mid to your resume and be well established in the game (it's often not what you know but who you know) to get a job in a great facility (plus have inside knowledge on who is a good employer and who's not ) and just make your life a whole lot easier??

Just factors to consider - sorry, that was longer than intended because stuff kept popping into my head - but do do what you feel is right. Good Luck with your offer on Wednesday!!!!!!
