Our lovely donor gifted us with 20 eggs today !
Words can't describe how we are feeling at the moment as we also got to 'see' our donor ( by chance) from a distance...
Looking forward to meeting all the girls tonight and hearing fertilisation reports tomorrow.
Blinky, sorry, I didn't see your message before. That is great news! Big congratulations :-)

Pinkshootingstar - congrats on being PUPO and getting 4 frosties.

Miss Sagi – 13 eggs is a great result.

Faith – good luck for your donor’s EPU on Friday. 11 follicles sounds really promising.

Blinky – congrats what a fantastic egg haul. Yes indeed you need a drum roll for that! Love your photos.

    So much positive news lately.

Thembs – congratulations on the birth of your twins.

Kay – great that you have made a choice. We too were with Dr W and really loved his laid back attitude (as I am such a stress head). He put me at ease the whole time (even when I had a bleed over there before transfer).

Sunny – good luck for your journey for bub no. 2.

    Hi to everyone else.

PSS, Blinky, miss Sagi, Faith - everything crossed - keep us up dated - am checking the thread a lot (obsessively!) and sending good vibes to SA!

Hoping4best - how exciting that we may be there at same time. Have started to drop in conversations about a holiday to SA but was thrown last night by someone asking me why! LOL mumbled about direct flight, and loving Africa (which I do - lived in Zambia as a child for a few years) but was about to blurt out 'to have a chance of another child' but didn't. Going to have to get more convincing with my story!

AFM Next weeks task is approaching new gp and getting scripts!

Hello everyone. Apologies for the lack of posts, have been reading along but working, having a lively six-year-old and being pregnant means I've been going to bed very early instead of getting on the computer!

A special hello to everyone who's currently in CT, hope it's all been going well and you've been enjoying one of my new favourite places in the world! Hope you all enjoyed your catch up: I found that being able to meet some of my fellow Bub Hubbers while in CT in November was really lovely!

Pink SS: Congrats on being PUPO and also for having some frosties up your sleeve.

Blinky: 20 eggs...amazing! You must be so relieved. How did you feel when you saw your donor?

Faith: Good luck for your donor's EPU on Friday! How are you enjoying CT? And did you enjoy your appointment with Sarah?

Miss Sagi: Congrats on getting 13 eggs. How are they travelling and are you on track for a day five transfer?

Annabelle and Devaki: I think you may be the next cabs off the rank? When do you leave? Good luck with your last minute preps.

KLM: You must be counting down the days until you leave...I have everything crossed that this trip is going to be the one!

Thembs: Congratulations on the birth of Luthando and Nandi, you must be thrilled. Hope you're all doing ok.

Kay2015: Well done on choosing DR W. We also went with him and what everyone else has said is spot on. He's very dry and laid back (I found I had to ask lots of questions to get the info I wanted) but certainly knows his stuff. He also saw that I was getting a bit teary in the waiting room after my day 3 transfer was pushed back to day 5 at the last minute (I was a bit overwhelmed with the emotional rollercoaster) and he came over to check I was ok and give me a pep talk. He's also great at answering queries by email after hours and his co-ordinator Cyndi is fab. But to be honest, from what I've read here, I think all the CFC docs are great!

MardiCharli: How are you getting on?

Mrs ErinR: Not long for you now...hope you're feeling ok.

Hi to Luca, CAmom, Laned, DJ and everyone else (sorry for lack of personals with everyone, this thread is getting so wonderfully busy!) at whatever stage of this journey you're on.

AFM: 15 weeks tomorrow. Can't believe it. And would you believe we still haven't told anyone but I don't think I'm going to be able to explain my expanded tummy away by saying I ate to much at Christmas for too much longer...

Just a quick message from me I'm just about to leave for the airport. I'm having a bit of a holiday at Victoria Falls before heading to Cape Town on the 10th. Very excited that it's all happening now.

Fingers crossed for all the February ladies things are sounding very promising.

Hi everyone. I have started reading all your posts but its overwhelming. I am just starting my journey (after many failed IVF cycles) and am deciding between Cape Fertility and going to Greece. Can anyone answer some really top level questions for me:
1 Which doctors do people recommend
2 Which donor organisation do people recommend, are there any differences?
3 Is Cape Town safe to bring a 3 year old?
4 What would you say is the all up cost once you factor in flights, accom, meds? I'm hearing about $15k.

Thanks so much. If anyone would be happy to discuss their Cape F experience over the phone, my hubby and I would love to speak to you. Please PM me and I can give you my phone number.

Any other tips people would give I would really appreciate. Once i decide I am definitely doing this, i will ask you all about accomodation.
    Thanks!

    Hi Pasadena

Cape Fertility was great in my opinion. The doctors come highly recommended by friends in SA. I am a medical specialist so I am quite fussy about where I go.

Cape Town is safe and cheap for travelling. Greece was in financial turmoil when I was in Athens a few years ago and I think it is worse now. I would def prefer CT on many levels.

All up costs were about $1200 accom, $6700 cycle, $700 or so drugs and freezing, and donor clinic fees vary between companies. I struggled communicating with egg donation SA but got along easily with ababySA, but for me donor availability and efficiency of the company were paramount. My flights were not considered as they were reward bookings on points.

Best wishes in making this huge step. I hope your future is prosperous.

Loads of ladies currently in SA having an amazing holiday and getting optimistic results. My thoughts are with them all on this fabulous journey.

AFM I have my first scan tomorrow. Oops, oh dear, stressed. The last time I did that the sac was empty. Fingers crossed tomorrow is different.
