I had my first appointment today, all is good, my donor is doing well will only a little bloating. Dr H is looking at around 15 eggs so far. He's also pushed her epu back by 3 days, which throws a little spanner in the works as I'll be on Safari when I have to go in for my progesterone lesson (I didn't even know about this appt until they tols me). Transfer day is now the day I'm leaving Cape Town for Johberg...Mmm need to sort something out real quick with the safari. I was all cool and stress free until this little bump in the road. Oh well I'll survive.

Met Blinky and her DH in the clinic today, it was great to share experiences face to face and I cant wait to catch up again for dinner.

Blinky, how did your appointment go?

Not long now for the other Feb girls!

Small update from Cape Town 😊

Things are going well, the mother city sure is turning on its charm with beautiful weather🌞

We too had our first appointment this today. It was great to meet Miss Sagi in the waiting room.

Dr LR was again true to form and fantastic and generous in his support. Our donor is doing fantastic and looks like she will produce a bumper crop. We feel very blessed but know it is a numbers game but so far the numbers are on our side (she has over 30 follies 😲).
Our EPU has been pushed back to Monday, so a couple more days to enjoy a sneaky glass and some seafood 😁.... So we have headed to Hout Bay for dinner on the wharf with a Sea breeze ...🐠🍤🍸

Nice numbers Blinky, does that mean your transfer has been moved to Saturday too?

Default Egg Donation in South Africa #7

Miss Sagi - all going well it looks like it.. We are being a little cautious about it all though as we know follie No's don't = eggs and nor does it indicate quality.
Regardless we feel comfortable with the result and apparently our lovely donor isn't having any issues with bloating or bad SE, so we are glad for that too.

Miss Sagi – Glad your first appointment well. 15 is a great number, it’s looking good. It’s kinda frustrating after you’ve made all these plans, to have to adjust them now. Hope you’ll be able to sort out your dates.

Blinky – Wow 30!!! That’s amazing . I am praying you get a bumper harvest. Enjoy the mother city.

Re the gift : We’ve bought a gift for our donor and will get a card once in SA. We’ll leave the gift with Elaine on day of EPU. I just wanted to give her something from my heart, since she’s giving me this precious gift. I know they are compensated, but I wanted to personally show her that I appreciate what she’s doing for me.

AFM – 3 more sleeps before we leave for CT. Thank you ladies for the advice on booking in advance for intralipid infusion. I asked Elaine to make a booking for me, and she got me an appointment for the day before the scheduled day of my donor’s EPU. I wanted it for day of EPU, but she explained they only do them on Tues and Thurs. I am anxious about the first appointment, I am hoping my lining will be where they expect it to be.

Not long now...Wishing you safe travels Faith 😊

I do have a question re:lining as This was something I was concerned about...
Opinions please: What is considered a good lining?

I have heard in the past that anything over 8 is good... Is there such a thing as too thick a lining ?
Last time mine was 13.5mm 2 days before EPU. This time it is 12.1mm with an expected 5 days before EPU..

Blinky - Thanks. Am making last minute arrangements now, so it's almost time.

I am also curious Blinky, re your question on lining. I have heard that a lining can be too thick. But am not sure what is considered too thick. I wonder what the Dr's expect the lining to be at, when we have the first scan. Would love to hear what the others say.

Blinky - sounds like everything is on track. BTW how did you go with your knee? I have no idea about too much lining. - probably best to ask Dr Le Roux.

Miss Sagi, sorry to read things have moved around. We weren't game (no pun intended) to book anything in like that and to just go with the flow once there. I guess you never know what's going to happen while over there. I hope you can move things around to make it work.

Afm - on holiday in Qld at the moment so not thinking about my cycle too intensely yet. Once I'm home I'm on a bit of a health kick and will get my mind in the game again. Just wish AF would show up!

Good luck Feb girls - I'm cheering you on

Miss Sagi and Blinky - welcome to Cape Town. Sounds like we were all at CFC today. We had our egg retrieval this morning, and got 11 eggs.

You ladies should both be pleased with your numbers! As for 30 ... Wow - I didn't know that many were possible!!!

As for lining scan, mine on Monday was 7.3 and he said they ideally like them at 8mm but anywhere between 7 and 8 is good.

Also re present and card, we did both and meeting Rikki from Sunshine on Monday before ET and she will provide to our donor.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!

    xx
