    Default Thanks from a DH

Just wanted to say I can see why my wife is addicted to this wonderful forum. What an overwhelming wealth of knowledge and support!

I have been struggling to support my wife though our IVF and ED journey and this thread has been beneficial beyond words.

We are off to Cape Town in less than 2 weeks and I'm sure it would have been 100x more scary if we hadn't found this thread.

A million times thank you to everyone and best of luck in your journeys.

If there are any blokes on this journey who'd like to connect and have a chat about what it's like, or if you'd like a guys point of view on anything I'd be more than happy to chat.

Hello all. Just a quick update from me as our wifi seems to come and go with the breeze! Decided to pop back to CFC yesterday as I thought it was a bit vague as to when we'd find out about our egg number...just as well I did as Dr W had left early for the w/e. Anyway, we got seven. Which I must admit I'm a bit disappointed with. (Even though Cyndi said that was good...) Just hope they develop and we have something to transfer. Also started the PIO injections yesterday, not too bad so far (but can see that might change as the bum fills up!)
Anyway wish those little eggs well on their journey for me!
Hello to all (and especially to my fellow November ladies (and new gent!) who are here/about to travel.
Off to Stellenbosch today and will enjoy a glass or two of wine...

Further to that, just had a call to say that only four have fertilised and we're looking at a day 3 transfer. Gutted, to be honest...

Hang in there Patsy. We all know how much this process messes with our heads. You just need 1 good one to take and it's still achievable. Numbers don't always mean success as I know. Will keep everything crossed for you and I hope the amazing Cape Town can give you something to help distract you for a bit.

Konza - also wanted to wish you both good luck and thanks for the offer to talk with other dh's. I will mention to mine - always worries me he only had me really and he is probably so busy trying to be strong or calm for me etc. :-)

Patsy, your odds are still good. We were originally booked in for a 3 day transfer, and also only had 4 fertilised. We were all set to drive back from franschoek when they called to say the 4 were still good and that we can do a day 5, so we stayed another night in franschoek.

Even so, as others have said, odds of a day 3 success are still good!

Good luck to everyone else too!!

Konza - thank you kindly for your lovely words. It is so refreshing to see the fellas taking an active interest in the ED process. Wishing you and your loved one all the very best and I hope your dreams are realised.

Yay Title you have a mate

Thanks all. Your kind messages of encouragement have brought tears to my eyes. Feeling a bit emotional (although the 2 glasses of wine over lunch at the winery might be helping in that regard... Trying to get back into a positive frame of mind!

Keep positive patsy73, we too only got 6 eggs with 4 fertilising and went in to do the 3 day transfer only to be sent home as all 4 were still looking great. Went back day 5 and had two returned and now 26 weeks pregnant with twin boys and 1 in the freezer. As others have said the numbers do play with your head but hang in there lovely. Enjoy those wines whilst you can.

CAmom, hugest congrats to you. The waiting never seems to end and I found waiting for the scan almost harder than the tww hope it goes speedy for you.

MrsErin, so sorry to read you have been in hospital and hope your SH is decreasing and you are back home soon. So glad bubs is doing well. Thinking of you.

Feather, congrats on the birth of your boys. Hope you are all doing well.
Emski, thanks so much for sharing such exciting news. You must be on the countdown now till you get to meet your gorgeous girl.

Im sorry but cannot remember who asked about the FS support, I too was super lucky that my IVFA Dr helped in putting me in contact with a FS here in Singapore to help with our preparation and he too has also been available to me via email for any questions/prescriptions at no extra costs. I've only paid for the visits to my FS here in Singapore no extra 'management' fees and they have been lovely and supportive and were so excited for us when they shared our positive BT results. I only did 2 BT as they were both high and more than doubled and needed the head space plus we were booked to go in for a 6 weeks scan but they squeezed me in at 5 weeks after my spotting scare where we discovered the two sacs. I kept my original 6 week scan but was warned they may not see any HB's yet but luckily there were two little beating blobs on the screen. I went back again at 9 weeks then 12 weeks before being passed over to the twin specialist ob in the hospital. I've been seeing him now every 3 weeks so getting lots of peeks at the boys, though still wish I could see them more. I also continued with crinone until 12 weeks due to spotting at weeks 5,7&9 but then stopped all meds, including prednisolone and clexane jabs. Dr now has me on 100mg of aspirin due to MTHFR and tablet to ease indigestion, extra folate, multi and DHA vits.

i haven't commented much but you are all in my thoughts and especially want to wish all the November gals and guys all the very best of luck. Each stage seems to bring its own set of stressors but I hope you can relax a little and enjoy Cape town whilst you are there. It is great to have another bloke on here and agree if it wasn't for this amazing supportive group here I would not be lying awake writing at 2am with two little beings wriggling around madly inside me seeing who can reach my ribs first (feels like that's what they are aiming for

sending hugs to you all, it is a tough road but definitely made easier with all your support. xx
