Hello ladies I have been reading and following the many journeys on this forum for 2 years. I have myself been on the egg donor trail after several failed IVF attempts over 7 years. We should have done it sooner However, the possibility of success keeps us hoping when we see the BFP's and healthy deliveries reported here. We have been to Cpt for Egg donor IVF 3 times in a year. One fresh cycle that resulted in a MC @exactly 5 months due to amniochorionitis (an infection inside the uterus of unknown origin really) and 2 chemicals from the FET's. We had chosen a lovely 24 year old unproven donor. In 2013, 10 eggs ending with 7 embryos, 2 transferred and 5 frozen. She has donated again this month but I don't know the outcome. Dr LeR was my lovely physician at CFC. We used Nurture for the egg donor, they were more expensive ($2250 USD this years fee) than the others ($1650 for proven) but the experience was positive. This time I am on the hunt with other agencies as well. A bit surprised to see girls on several sites, but I guess 7000 ZAR fee doesn't change for them. How do you feel about proven and unproven donors? We /I will go again at the end of April I hope. Cape Town is lovely anytime of the year and I felt safe exploring on my own.
Our stories vary but we want the same outcome. I admire all of the ''stick-to-it-iveness'' women have when we have a goal. The support on this thread is warm and kind which is needed when the results disappoint. But we pick ourselves up and start the next offense.
Baby dust to all the hopefuls this month in CapeTown
PS not sure yet how to put our info in our ''byline'' :S

Hi BriarRabbit. Best wishes on your next journey.

For me I wanted a proven donor. The donor fees you paid seem very high compared with the agency I used.

As other ladies have stated CFC can help you select a donor with good outcomes if you are trying to decide.

Hoping this year is full of positivity for you.

    Hi BriarRabbit

Welcome to the forum! Re proven/unproven donors, I am using an "unproven" donor but she has a daughter already, and for me this was a good enough. Maybe I would feel differently if I had already had several unsuccessful attempts though - in that situation I might try to put all possible variables in my favor.

This will be our first donor attempt, we are aiming for July this year.

Sending you positive vibes for your next trip to CT,
    Kay

Hi everyone. I know there is an NK cell forum which I will locate but thought I'd just put this question out there if you don't mind. If any of you have had a hysteroscopy, scratch and lipoidal flush - has it delayed the start of AF or did everything track normally. I know everyone is different but just trying to get a feel for what generally happens. Thanks in advance.

Such an exciting time for everyone in Cape Town.... the business end of the deal. Wishing everyone the best for success in Cape Town.

I will gladly finish my injections soon (yay). On the weekend I gave myself my shot which resulted in a waterfall of blood (shame) that had me mesmerised until I took hold of the situation. Fortunately I'm brave. I now sport a lump 10cm by 4cm on my butt. Ladies who have been through this..... what a journey. I have to laugh or I'd cry! Hope you can find this amusing 😉. I'm not taking the pessary dose that they prescribed because it is 4 times what I took in Australia and it would be $25 per day for those alone. Those little things are expensive. My doc has formulated an alternate plan.
