Thats pretty average @Miss Sagi - the cycles with 20+ eggs are the exception generally and a drop off rate of about 50% at fertilisation happens regularly.. 6 awesome quality blasts though, concentrate on that... My own cycle was 12 retrieved, 6 fertilised, 2 transferred, 2 frozen. I know it's hard when others are getting huge numbers - hang in there honey.

Not every egg and sperm create life......that's what we have to remember. It's always complex gambling but using a younger donor improves the stats markedly compared with our own eggs. You just need one good embryo...... one. We all want more though.

Thembs – Congratulations on the birth of your precious babies. It’s great that mom and bubs are doing just fine.

Patsy – Hey… yeah I absolutely enjoy the sessions with Sarah, I find them very relaxing.

Annabelle – Have a safe journey.

KMP – Good luck with your scan tomorrow.

Miss Sagi – I understand why you may feel disappointed, having 6 after you started with 13 eggs. Please try not to worry too much, as it’s really about the quality. Your 6 are still going strong and that’s good news.

Thanks for your reassurance everyone, I think I just expected a better fert rate with young eggs. I'm now worried about the quality of my sperm donor. When I spoke with Elaine the other day I told her I wanted to do PICSI so I could use the best sperm and she talked me out of it, saying its not necessary with the process the donors go through, but now I wished I had of stuck to my guns. Oh well, 6 embies travelling well....C'mon little embies! 😊

Miss Sagi - Id agree with emski , those numbers are typical. Cycles with big numbers can be a double edge sword... (Quality v Quantity).
If you have 6 tracking nicely on day three that's a pretty good result Id say!
Cheering you on for Tx on Saturday!

Good luck to Faith for EPU tomorrow 😊

Congratulations thembs of the birth of your babies, what a fabulous time for you.

Faith all the best for your EPU today.

annabelle safe travels and enjoy Victoria falls.

AFM we fly out today and have had a fabulous time in Cape Town. I seem to have come down with a cold/flu in last couple of days so praying this won't impact implantation.

Holding thumbs (as they say here) for all the other February ladies that the positive results to date continue.

    xx

Pinkshootingstar yes holding thumbs is so common with my South African friends. It's quite cute.

I think those embies are quite resilient. I had a migraine the day after transfer and day before flying out- I just had to take my migraine medications after 10hrs and it still worked out.

Wishing all the Feb ladies good vibes.

AFM scan shows a 6mm embryo with a clear heartbeat. So amazing and such a relief.
