Unfortunately the "high risk" message left on my phone yesterday was true. Have seen my ob today, and yes, devastated with the results of my 12 week NT results:
    - the NT is fine at 1.7mm (normal seems to be below 3.5mm)
    - foetal nasal bones are seen, so that's fine
    - but based on my age (42) my risk for Down's is 1:42
    - but free beta HCG is 4.900 Mom (much higher than normal) which is obviously why my adjusted risk comes back as 1:20
    - PAPP-A seems fairly normal at 0.930 Mom

1:20 is quite devastating, though I guess we always knew that my age of my old eggs were going to be a problem. Ob hadn't received the Harmony BT back from the US yet, so will wait for that, but it seems that an amnio will be on the cards. Ob wants it done at 16 weeks, so still 3 weeks away.

@MGC Bertie so sorry your are in limbo like this hopefully it's all just done as a precaution and you will have the outcome you so want.
Friends of ours had a similar high risk assessment done and an inconclusive harmony test. Everything ended up being all well. I'm sure this will be the case for you too. I will be crossing my fingers and toes for you x

Default IVF Babies due July/August/September 2015!

@Ladyamalthea how annoying that you have to retake the test!! I've heard sometimes they don't get enough of the mothers DNA or something to be able to run the test properly. Hopefully you get the results back really soon! x

@Ladyamalthea oh how frustrating. Hope u don't have to pay again for retest.
@MGC Bertie I am no expert but ur results don't look too bad and I think it is your age that is skewing the risk. The fact that there is a nasal bone the nt is not big is very good. The Harmony result will be way more conclusive u may not need an amnio. Hope u get the harmony results asap

@MGC Bertie just echoing what the other ladies have said. Hope your harmony test results are more conclusive. When do you expect your results?

Essence.... I was told 2-3 weeks, but someone else said their Harmony test came back recently in 10 days, so that would have been today. So hopefully early next week.

MGC I hope it's all ok. 1:20 is still a 95% chance that all is fine. Fingers crossed for speedy test results.

MGC Bertie - sorry to hear about your NT scan. But as you said all of bubs measurements came back normal. It was just the age factor and bloods are high. Hopefully the harmony will be sitting on OB's desk by this afternoon for you.... Thinking of you hun. It's such a bloody hurdle at our age isn't it. If it's not one thing it's another. But this is your turn and your year....
Thinking of you and keep us posted.

Just a quick note, to say that it's all good news :-) The Harmony results from the US came back as low for all three trisomies. I asked if there was a percentage with that, and the secretary said 0.01%, and then said that that equates to 1:10,000 chance. I way like those odds better than last weeks Australian ones of 1:20 risk!! I'm rather relieved, but strangely still not over-the-moon. I feel like I should be, but I just aren't. Also, on the way home I realised that I never asked the sex, but I guess I was just more concerned about the health, and can always find the sex out another time.
