Default IVF Babies due July/August/September 2015!

I agree with @mushy. We told close friends and family about IVF, but we're certainly not telling everyone. Once you're pregnant does it matter how you got that way? That said, if anyone asked directly I'd tell them. I'm all about breaking the IVF taboo silence.

@Twinkley, not sure I have any advice hun but two weeks for another scan seems crazy! I ended up in the ER for a lung scan at 6w4d, and along with checking everything else, we got to see the baby for the first time, along with the heartbeat. But we were a 5dt. Can you get advice from your FS?? Two weeks seems painfully long to be in limbo.

Maybe get another ultrasound ordered by your GP?

    Good luck!!

@Twinkley - are you having more bloods? I'd wait three to four days inbetween tests and that should give you a better indication. Not doubling right at your stage of pregnancy has never ended well for me but .... more than doubling hasn't ended well in the past either! I have always seen a heartbeat by 7 weeks though. This is the first time I had such an early scan and there was a heartbeat at 6+1 but I went into the scan fully aware that there may not be a heartbeat and that it would not mean anything as it was so early. I know heart beats *can* be picked up as early as 5.5 weeks but your right, some aren't picked up until later though, I would think 9 weeks is pretty late for an internal scan for people who know their exact dates. If I were you, I would be waiting three to four days after the last bloods to get them repeated and I would be absolutely *insisting* on getting a second scan at 7+3 weeks.....so a week after your last one. Stuff waiting two weeks of tortuous anxiety.

It was an internal scan though ofcourse right?

Wishing you every bit of luck for some great results & follow up scan xxxxxx

Laverty can't/won't give you the results direct but any other GP can, even a walk-in bulk billing one can. Either ask Laverty to fax a copy of your results to whoever you make an appointment with (can be short notice....just enough for them to fax it ) or the GP can ring for them while you're sitting in their office. Laverty can tell you if the results are ready but not the results themselves. Xx

@Twinkley, I've been thinking if you Hun....how are you doing? Have you had anymore scans/bloods? Or at least moved your scan forward a week?? Hope you've had some positive news xxxxx

AFM - more bleeding and have been put back on strict bed rest for at least another 3 weeks I bet my boss loves me right about now !! All I did was cook an easy dinner and load the dishwasher for this all to start back up again Im trying to take courage from all of my three scans having showed perfect growth and heartbeats but it's hard not to feel like this pregnancy is slipping through my fingers when all I keep seeing is all of this blood! I'm 9 weeks on Monday. I cannot even fathom starting back at square one....yet again.... Please please please, stick like super glue little one! Please.

Ladydee.... oh gosh, stay in bed then!!! 9 weeks is too far to come. Thinking of you xx

Twinkley.... oh yes, I wouldn't be waiting two weeks. I'd be ringing and insisting for one from a week from the last one. After all the money you've paid them for IVF, they can do another scan for you!!

AFM... I didn't get Friday's BT on Friday, and have had to wait to get the results tomorrow (Mon) as my immune specialist never rang back (even though I left two messages on Friday and once more on Saturday) and the GP on-call (as my GP is away until Monday too!!) wouldn't tell me the results over the phone, as he said, "I don't know the rest of your history, so I can't interpret the result" so have no idea if I'm safely over the 6 week mark yet or not. What a comment!! I'm sure he could have just told me the silly number!! I did consider going down the medical centre, but as it was a bit of a busy weekend, have just waited it out.

So amazing seeing all the scan pics! So many wee bubbas baking away! Just gorgeous.
@Ladydee am sending you the stickiest of vibes. I can't imagine how worrying it would be, but know that you're doing a great job. My clinic only offered the Harmony test (they didn't mention any other brands of the test) but at $550 it's not cheap... Tho I think I'm immune to medical costs now after shelling out 10s of '000s for IVF. I was like 'meh, here's my credit card!'.... Plus they slugged me an additional $50 to find out the gender 😳
@Twinkley have everything crossed for you. Like others have said I would be pushing hard for tests/results sooner than 2 weeks.

Not sure if this is kosher but I have 2 boxes of unopened Clexane 40mg (20 syringes in total) - can I send them to someone who's on these? Seems such a waste to just take them to the pharmacy to be disposed of. Clearly I couldn't count when getting my last lot of scripts filled 😁 i'm happy to pay postage and of course don't want any $ for them.

Hope everyone has a good week ahead.

Hi ladies, I just wanted to pop in & say hi I had posted a lot earlier in the thread but haven't in such a long time now! We just had our scan last week & are 13 weeks today. Scan went well but they never gave us any pic's which was really disappointing! They gave me a disc but I can't get it to open anything After having to pay over $200 I just wanted one image & they wouldn't let us take one on our phone either.

Hope everyone is well. Sorry for no personals, I have a lot to read back over

Rocky.... I can't believe that they didn't even let you take a photo on your own camera. If the disc doesn't open, you should call them and ask for a new one. It's such an important step in your journey.

MrsSG.... it's perfectly fine to give your Clexane away, as I'm sure someone wouldn't appreciate them. Unfortunately I take 60, so wouldn't want extra jabs to make up the daily dosage. Try also on the "Natural Killer Cells" thread, as lots of women on there use Clexane.

@Teeja.... how did your first scan go today?

AFM.... yes, I g ot Friday's BT results today - Hcg is 54,000 (36dpo) which I thought would have been higher than that since it was 21,000 at 29dpo. I know that doubling time is 48hrs in the first few weeks (which it has been spot on), and then starts to slow down, but this week makes the doubling time 123hrs - well, I guess there's nothing I can do so will have to just wait and see what the scan shows tomorrow (Tues). P4 has increased to 165, but Dr M said to stay on 3 x pessaries per day - was kind of hoping that I could decrease these.
