Default Hi all.. this is our first ivf cycle or should I say it was 😢.. PLEASE HELP ME!

Hi all.. this is our first ivf cycle or should I say it was 😢..

I was booked in for my embryo transfer today and got a call that when they looked at my embryo's this morning the had all stopped growing so I had none and my transfer was canceled..

When they did the egg collection they collected 11 and through the growth we ended up with 3 good ones
    1- had 8 cells
    1- had 6 cells
    And 1-5 cells

So our 8 cell one was the one we were thinking would of been transfered..

im in shock still and devastated, how could we go from one egg being healthy with 8 cells 2 days ago to today having nothing!

We went through ivf Australia in kograh due to being our referred place to go by our doctor. .

We are wanting to do another cycle but are thinking should we go somewhere eles or stay where we are? Anyone have any good places to go?

    Thankyou amy

It's so hard. Devastating. You normally loose about 80% of embryos from collection through to transfer. With only 3 you would hope that you have 1 to transfer. Did they go to day 5 or day 3? With 3 embys they should have transferred at day 3. Hugs. It's hard.

Yes its very hard just there was a great one there and now nothing. .

They transfered on day 5.. the embryo with 8 cellls was all good on monday and then Tuesday they said they dont check them the day before the transfer and then this morning they checked them and they had all stopped and that was it..

im just confused how this could happen..

Unfortunately day 4 is a critical day and most will arrest on day 4. They should have transferred on day 3. It seems confusing but I have done over 8 stims and this is all very normal unfortunately. Hopefully your next stim will produce mor embryos and hopefully you will get something to transfer. Not having a transfer is harder than a cancelled cycle. Ask your FS what you can do differently next time to get more eggs and hopefully more fertslise. How old are you and hubby ?

Transferring on day 3 doesn't really help though as it would probably stop in you as well as the lab but they normally like to give a bit of hope

    @Lilly pilly

I thought geting 11 eggs on egg collection was alot but maybe not.. I hope they can get more on next cycle

yeah well our Doctor is going to call us Tommorow when they get the Notes of what Happen so we will have More of a understanding of what went wrong..

Im 24 and my hubby is 27 😊

I mite talk to our doctor about on our next cycle if we can transfer on day 3 considering it was already at 8 cells on day 3.. but we will see..

But we definitely want to do another cycle we dont want to give up..

How many clyces did you do before you got pregnant?

Amy111 I did 3 cycles myself before having to go donor eggs and then only 1 emby fertilised on my first donor cycle and we transferred on day 3 and that is my DS.
3.5 years later I have transferred 13 embys and 7 stims and just got another BFP and am 6 weeks now. This was our very last cycle and we went back to frozen sperm that we used to cycle with my DS and it hopefully has worked. It's been a very long 6-7 years to get our family but worth it. Hang in there.
