If I got a Christmas gift for my 2 mo old I would probably get something for them for later on in life. Like an engraved bracelet or hands and feet casted or a really nice Christmas tree ornament.

My ds was 6 weeks last christmas, we got him some outfits, a couple of age appropriate gifts and some books. Nothing huge though.

I would get a few little toys clothes and stuff, especially if you have other kids.

My dd is getting food related presents, spoons, non slip bowl and stuff. She'll be 6 months on Christmas Day.

DS was 10 weeks at his first Xmas and I just wrapped all the things I had bought him that he would need anyway for the next few months ( clothes , toys, sippy cups , books ) and we got heaps of photos of him with all his "presents" on Xmas day!

Given their birthday and Christmas are so close together I would get them things that they will need all the way up till 12 months. We have 2 August babies (not quite the same as your situation) and the eldest of those got a jolly jumper and ride on car for his first Christmas (both secondhand - love buy, swap and sell pages) plus some clothes and books.

Would be so much easier if birthdays were all in the middle of the year
