    I just remember falling into a deep depression (impact of pre eclampsia symptoms and no diagnosis), and also having jaundice baby and nurses getting irritated every time I rung bell to pass baby to me to feed, I ended up picking him up myself with c/ section and pulled stitches. It would have made the world of difference to have my husband there for support, and I know he hated leaving me and bub every night. I think it should be a choice in every hospital - public or private!

    Agreed @bubbles82
    Especially when you have a private room.

    My local public hospital has only shared bathroom between rooms. So they don't want visitors using them and therefore not allowing anyone to stay the night.

    Except probably in the dramatic circumstances outlined by @Meredith grey

    @bubbles82

    I had my twins at Redlands via CS and I was left to fend for myself. 1st time mum, minimal pain relief and husband wasn't allowed to stay past 10. Horrible experience. However $0 so didn't come home to a huge bill.

    Are you going to Redlands again? Ring around a bit I reackon.

    Exactly why I was looking for private, not much choice for public, either Logan or Redlands Mater not my area so won't take me. Where else? Logan ok but not a fan sharing with 4, at least Redlands private room. They missed my post partum pre eclampsia, told me I had anxiety pfff. Oh well.

    I rather share a room than a bathroom
